Not to get us off the caverns discussion, but I had a quick question for you guys about playing against UW control with 4 field of ruin and 4 spreading seas.
Back when I first picked this deck up, we used to stomp all over control decks like this, but now it’s probably my worst matchup especially since I’ve tuned my deck to better beat aggro.
Any thoughts on good SB cards - other than a big control Trump creature - or strategies in general? This is something I assume most people struggle with and I know I could use a little help. I can post my list later if anyone needs it as I’m on mobile now. Thx!
Sorry to drag the discussion back a page or two - missed your reply. Splashing for white does mean the deck suffers a lot against blood moon, but in all honesty I've never had an enormous problem either resolving spells through it or removing them (at least post-board). Between the Purges and Repeals, it's not hard to keep them off the board. Plus in general I find that many decks that bring them in/rely on them a lot preboard (Ponza, UR Moon) already aren't great at putting on pressure so Im able to counter key spells and stall until I can resolve a bomb through the moon or get it off the moon an activate my Tron.
As far as chalice, I've noticed over the past few months it's been getting worse. GDS and burn are showing up less in my meta (when burn was prominent I maindecked 3 BA). Plus, with BBE out jail, artifacts are dying fast now. I'll agree that path isn't always active T1 while dismember is, but rarely am I taking 3 life for it - and if I am, then I do have it T1. Plus with the play set of BA and a few timelys, it's just a fact that my win % has really gone up against burn and other really quick count to 20 decks. Relying on chalice against decks that are packing at least a playset of drev never worked out for me.
Hey guys, new user here to the forums but not to the deck. I've been playing Tron for a while now, and a few months ago made this shift in the deck (which I really like) - from Mono-U Tron to U/W Tron. Not the gifts combo stuff, still this flavor of deck, but I was looking for other people's thoughts on this list. It also seems to fit in well with the current discussion.
Thanks in advance for any feedback you might have!
Just a few thoughts on the decklist:
I find it has a much better matchup against aggro (of all sorts) than U-Tron does, especially in the post-board games. It doesn't suffer noticeably against UW or Jeskai-type control, or all-in stuff like Storm and griselbrand combo either.
By far the biggest change from the stock decklist is that I'm not running Chalices, which is mostly so I can run Paths.
Any thoughts?
I recently took my necrotic ooze package out of my Marchesa deck, but I'd like to put it back in again. Below are the combos I know about, but I was wondering if there were any necrotic ooze combos I could grab entirely with buried alive and whose pieces are good on their own.
I have kiki-jiki and grimgrin already in the deck. Sage of hours or really a lot of cards can win from this point.

To those that do play it, what are it’s good matchups? Like for what do you board it in/out?

Spikeshot elder, morgue toad, and kiki-jiki go off as well too, I believe.
Anyway, are there any other ooze combos I'm missing whose pieces are good on their own? Thanks in advance!
