Now that you can pick up a Tarmogoyf for $70ish, is there anyone who had cost issues with this card who'll now run it?
I bought one MM17 booster pack and before I opened it, though about whether I'd run Goyf if I cracked one. I concluded I'd trade it for other, much more needed cube stuff. Then I got an Extractor Demon in my pack, making the whole thing moot.
haha i had a similar experience today except i cracked a full box of MM and didn't get a lili, snapcaster, goyf or even a single fetch land.
I am looking to add goyf now that the price point has dropped. still hoping to crack one though, just to say i did!
do I cut yahenni's expertise for damnation? (it's such a fun and unique card though!)
do i cut night's whisper and run 4 black sweepers? (I feel like that might be too may in a single colour...)
what percentage of a cube should be sweepers anyways?
haven't tried out threads before. but am interested to hear what others have to say.
Kamigawa was before i started playing competetively but right in the middle of when my mom would buy me packs for going to the dentist haha. so i ended up with a few divining tops and things!
The only demons I am running are Griselbrand and rakshasa gravecaller which is kind of a pet card for me. I have a bit of a zombie tribal theme so I like him as a 5cmc black creature. Guy was amazing in KTK limited and decided to carry on with him into the cube.
This guy has been pretty damn good since I re-added it. There's a lot of 1-drops that hold their value into the later stages of the game. He also improves your draws and helps you rebuild after a sweeper. It also gives you more discard fuel as a way to simply "draw 2 cards" when it comes into play. I could see cutting it if I got another bomb 4-drop, but I'd rather not, because he's been awesome.
Necro time!
now that this is in MM3 i'm looking into him. Was suprised to see this rave review. does this still hold true today? what 1 drops are the best targets for him in most cube lists?
Currently I have some tribal support for zombies, goblins, and elves in my cube. But most of these tribal interactions are from good cards that would be in regardless and the only cards I include that I wouldn't otherwise are lord of the undead, graveborn muse, dragon fodder, and dwynen, gilt-leaf daen
there are always new creatures in these types coming out and I do consider it if I am looking to make an include.
love secure the wastes! scaleable instant speed token generation is great! love pumping a geist-honored monk with it or chumping a big guy and getting in for a nice crack back.
I find artwork bothers me more than flavour. But one thing that came up in my cube recently is that I run all the origins flip walkers and then one walker per colour. I wanted to have each main colour walker match the flip walker character but I like elspeth so much that I included her instead of gideon, ally of zendikar. Gideon is a great cube card too but right now i'm just so tired of him and those sideburns in standard.
havent gotten to test nissa yet but she is in my list. i think she will do great. she can clog up the board pretty well and the -2 ability can do some serious work. I expect her to stick around.
I have a small "bonsai" tree. its actually two types of ginseng that have been grafted together to make it look like a bonsai. Then I have a couple cacti that I have had since I was in grade 7! thats all for plants.
silverheart is kind of a pet card for me. I was really tempted to cut him when the green gearhulk came out but i couldn't do it. always enjoyed the soulbond mechanic!
don't run swords in my cube but its power is obvious.
honestly i think some of the longest novels I have read are those old Red Wall novels when i was a kid. I think Mossflower was the second in the series and the longest of them all.

right now my black sweeper section consists of:
toxic deluge
languish
yahenni's expertise

otherwise i feel pretty similarly about fatal push not being that great in cube and the rest being solid.
I dont run any edict effects in my cube because i have taken out all protection, shroud and non-activated hexproof in my cube.

Loving AER limited. one of the most fun in a long time! red black vehicles and red white vehicles are typically what i draft into!
i havent run force spike before in my cube. seems like a fun card but i am pretty happy with my counterspell section.
