Hey, can I become a friend of this clan as a WPL of the World of Pokemon (btw, everyone come play when we get started). Since Daftmouse and Froxy are here, I have to join the trend.

Unfortunately, saying "I don't like it" gets us nowhere. It actually puts me in an awkward situation because I have no way to argue against that. We both have very different ideas of the game. Nothing that I submit you will like and nothing that you submit I will like...AT FIRST. That is why we have to work together to COMPROMISE both of our versions to fix the flaws in each and when two conflicting viewpoints come together, I think we can truly make the best game possible.
So tell me. What about my backstory don't you like? Do you have anything better?
Risin was my name for a region. It is the map currently listed as "Old Map" in the map thread. It was six months old and I made it quickly so it needed some remodeling. So, we really don't have to mutilate it that much. Seeing that we are pressed for time already and we still have so many other things to discuss, lets not go backwards simply because you "don't like it." This isn't YOUR game, it is OUR game.
There is nothing wrong with a WPL having a character in the game. Ti'rin was allowed to have a character in the game. He wasn't allowed to have two. He also wasn't allowed to moderate his own character. All the WPLs of MTG have characters in the game as I recall, so there is nothing wrong with us having characters in our own game either.
So, really? You are just going to ignore everything important I said in that last post?
I put Professor Birch on the boat. If a player wants to start the game with a pokemon from a Professor, Birch would give them one.
I do not think we should allow trainers to start from Risin. It would give their character a HUGE unfair advantage over other player because their character would know so much more about the region.

Well, I think I explained it pretty well in post 1. I wanted to get the game started and neither of you were around to approve it. I also did not start the game yet. That is why I called it the Pre-Game. All I did was give anxious players a place to RP and maybe battle each other. Two is a lot, because that is 1/4 of our players right now, but I wish they had PMed me so I could explain myself.
OK. I only did this because you guys went 4 days without commenting on this. I didn't want to keep players waiting, especially when you weren't responding here. Now that you are here, should we do this?

By the way, Asauren was a gimmick account of mine unless you never realized. May I continue to play that character even though I am a WPL? (that would simply mean you two would be in charge of leading him) I also might switch him to this account. Thanks.

Important OOC: So, Daftmouse and Froxy have been a little distant over the last few days. I haven't seen them around here and they haven't really been answering by comments to them. Honestly, I pictured us having started the game by now, and I'm sure you guys are more tired of waiting than I am. Therefore, I am going to post this. I submitted this idea to the others a few days ago, but they have not yet responded. SO, if they decide to outvote me and not run this little portion of the game, I will be forced to delete this. But for now, I am going to leave this so people can get into the swing of the game and start developing their characters. I am putting this here to we can play, but since a lot of the rules have not yet been established, and since the map has not fully been set up, we can't do the full game quite yet. The Livian Ferry travels from Livian to various other regions throughout the world. Riding the ferry is the only way to get from another region to Risin. The boat is filled with tourists and travellers, as well as people who simply want to go to Risin for their own reasons. However, the boat is mostly home to new trainers. The Risin Pokemon League is a rather new creation, so new trainers come here so they start their careers here and compete in a more level playing field.
The Livian Ferry is actually quite large, almost like a cruise ship. It gives each of its passengers a small room where they can come to rest or be alone. There are some areas inside the boat including restraunts, a gift store, and a few lounges. The main area of the boat is the upper deck. This is a big open area with many places to relax. It holds a few pokemon arenas where people can get in a few battles before they arrive in Livian. There is also a pool and a small garden on board.
Upcomming Events:
Small Tournament coming up soon! Any interested trainers can enter with one pokemon of their choosing. The tournament will be single elimination with small prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, plus a small consolation prize for all participants. Great practice for the Risin Pokemon League!
Special Visitor: Professor Birch from the Johto Region is currently aboard the ferry. He invites any new trainers seeking advice to come and find him.

Why?
You have yet to explain to me what about Froxy's map works better than mine. (Froxy, if I say anything that even sounds like an insult to your map, I do not mean it. I understand that these are a lot of work). Why do you like his better. Could it be...
-The fact that his map only has nine cities that are described in detail, while mine has more like 20? No, it can't be that. You yourself said that you want this game to have far more cities than an average pokemon world.
-The fact that I didn't listen to the requirements you and Froxy madated that I put in? No, it isn't this either. I put in all 9 of your cities. I changed them a little bit to fit on my map better, but the basic premise of all nine remained. You also asked for a brushland, so I added one into your map. The only requirement I ignored was when you asked it to be a southern region. The reason was because I was already half way done and really that shouldn't matter.
-The fact that you recognize two people have put a lot of work into their maps and you want to try to compromise? Well, no. You don't appeared to have considered any of my ideas, except the railroad, but you have taken out its main purpose. Actually, this map WAS a compromise. It took all my ideas and combined them with all of your ideas.
-The fact that my map is actually complete (I don't think you guys only want 9 cities) and you want to keep working on it? Well, I hope not. We are keeping players waiting more and more as we stall on this desicion. Now, I know you are going to call what I am doing right now stalling, but since my map is complete, and includes both parties' designs, we could just go with it and move on.
-The fact that I tried to give Risin some backstory about its colonization and placed my cities in a logical way that followed that. Well, if you want the cities to have appeared and the region to just be a random hunk of island, I guess that could make sense. Also, you appear not to care about removing depth from the game, so this certainly could explain it.
-Because you are convinced you are better than me and that your opinion goes. This is probably why. Well, if you are just going to ignore everything I say/do, you might as well try to kick me out, because there really isn't any point in my being here. But really, I hope this isn't it. So, Daftmouse, I'm stumped. Why? I can't figure it out. Tell me what is wrong with my map. Tell me what I did that you don't like. Tell me what Froxy's map has that my map does not. @ Froxy: You showed me in the TM thread that you are willing to listen to reason, make intelligent decisions and fair compromises. Since Daftmouse has not shown that same skill, I believe we need to make a compromise between our maps and outvote him.
EDIT: "Risin is a region nestled between the regions of Sinnoh and Almia." This was on the registration page. Seeing that you have expressed interest in the region being Southern, I deleted it. But why change the way you already stated it?
I edited the first post of the map thread. It is still incomplete because my progress has been slow because of my vacation, but I decided I might as well post what I have since I think I'm holding everything up. Please keep an open mind as you read it. Thanks.
