Can you sacrifice a creature that was in your control, but is now in exile? I was reading through the rules and there's nothing on this at all.
My 2nd question is, creatures that have something like: "When "xxxx" attacks he gains +1/+1 until the end of its turn. When I guarding with that selected creature, would that trigger its ability? Or are attacking and guarding 2 completely separate things.
Sorry I'm like brand new to MTG and still learning.
It told me you can only sacrifice permanents, and a permanent is only what's on the battlefield. So that makes a ton of sense, thank you all a ton.
