    I know about Renowned Weaponsmith, but not so convinced, the same remove get Sculptor/Engineer get Renowed, but Sculptor/Engineer can take effect the same turn, idk yet.

    Mulldrifter is no an artifact, but it can Divination for just U, in the worst case its the same of majority draw spells 2U and possibility to ramp, how many times i put Grand Architect and Mulldrifterm tapping he and stack for 2, and find an Wurmcoil Engine on draw, or some SUperion, Lodeston Golem ...

    talking about Lodeston Golem its one of ur best option on deck, i have cas of love and hate wiht it, but Various always convinced me, and i see how pressure he can put, he hold and put pressure in game by itself, definitely you can put it.

    Hello grahf1980,

    Welcome to the thread, always good to see new people to come.
    In the begin, i played with an Esper build, but some akward with Master Transmuter (i love master) but dont took advantage of all his potential, then i cut for UB, if you want i get some example for you. I like this color combination bring a good support like Sharuum the Hegemon and Sphinx of the Steel Wind so strong options and as Ulka sad Ethersworn Canonist is so strong card, i used in MB i like it so much too.

    Following as VariousBoots sad about ramp pieces, Renowned Weaponsmith not the worst but sometimes he dont drop T2 and need wait a turn, with Chief Engineer the effect is immediatly.
    Then what i can say, is to revise the mana base, for 3 color you have many tap lands and many risk to enter tap lands, a playset of fetch lands is a need i guess, something like 4/2 Deltas/Flooded Strand

    I guess you touch the point thats the best point ur build can have, INTERATION, the part we can seek the right pieces be heavy beaters or tools is the best move. I like the Dismember idea as 1-2 in MB, i'n liking the control part with the left mana we have almost every turn and with Basilisk Collar 4 life should hurt less.

    In fact Walking Ballista + Basilisk Collar is a nice weapon we have and unexpected by opponent i guess. I never play with Scrapheap Scrounger but now i'n curious, this fact you sad about hate blocks it cause she can return all turn looks fun. He can put pressure force the remove and then put our other trhead, maybe.
    About Yahenni's Expertise i'n suspicious to say but i dont like it in MB is not good in open hand i guess, 4CMC is high, if draw it after T3 maybe can conflit with ur battlefield, idk. Maybe more Dismember in her slot, or maybe with all possibility for search and copy Noxious Gearhulk is a point to revisit ?
    You say more what then i want about Spellskite, its good, but never a good draw, keywords: pressure and interaction is what we need.
    0 is the best cost for all Tormod's Crypt seens nice, o dont get to test, but i was think if we trade numerous grave hate for Leyline of the void its seens so usefull for many deck and can save slots, fact it can be tutored, but if open hand, its free too.

    About discards, maybe its preferences, but ill tell you a fact, i was convinced to keep it then after this, more:

    Last week, against as Abzan match, dont remember exactly the order but around T3, i put an Sphinx Summoner find anohter Sphinx Summoner and fin a Wurmcoil Engine then next turn i Thoughtseize opponent and see 3 Path to Exile, i just hold the wurmcoil and just beat 6 flier per turn, forcing the path on Sphinxs afeter this Wurmcoil hold me the game easy. I guess this is one of the most important thing in game, Information, beside discard, you can plan your game.

    Fun fact: In invict against DS deck hahah, some weeks ago, i win a diferent guy with DS, all flow nice, Fatal Push's in time Lodestone Golem cant leave he free to Traverse + DS in same turn. Jund seens mor hard recently for me.

    i considered a playset of Filigree Familiar on main. thats is like same way i used the Solemn Simulacrum do something when enter and leave, blocker can replace.

    i think exactly like you on Superion, a 5/6 "flavor" is one of best play, hold many beaters like Reality Smasher, and even with 8 ways to play it, just about few times i cant play it T2 or 3. I try to always get tips from many people i can, and was more then once sad the risk of myr but i cant cut (even Saffron sad it). The same day i looked for Familiar with other eyes.

    a time ago i played with Master of etherium just 4fun, i make 3 11/11 haha architect buff he too .. so fun

    maybe creatures etb create others like Precursor Golem (not exact this, was the only i remember)

    Collective Brutality is other choise call my attention

    but i'n happy with that build, if you can, just test it on MOL and feel, give your impression, maybe if we not have creatures to resolve early, lets try spells

    Perilous Myr cant hold the early ? and the support deck with the combo with Havengul Lich too ?

    This is an issue I have been thinking about for a long time. One of the problems with this deck is that Modern is fast. Lots of decks plan on killing you by turn 4 and can occasionally do it earlier. Your 4 discard and 4 removal mainboard is one solution to this problem but sometimes the deck just can't put pressure on the opponent before turn 4/5. I have tried shifting my lists into lower CMCs, including the time when I was mainboarding Scrapheap Scroungers alongside my Myr Superions. I think the Glint-Nest Crane has helped my early plays a lot and I have grown to prefer Chief Engineer over Etherium Sculptor because it is much easier to cast Myrs off of him.


    Agree in term os fast and discard has been helping me a lot. cause this have a card i started to look with more love: Filigree Familiar, its ensures something we need, tempo, like life chump block and replace itself, card advantage i think is much important. Cut Superion isnt crazy ? it make pressure, its akward.

    The problem i see with all lower CMC its cant make pressure enougth. If we have euipament support ? idk the early really the problem, my game with jund was so close, cause many discards in hates, fatal on keys, and Phyrexian Metamorph on wurmcoil do great work

    other card is Master of Etherium pump all and get big ...

    First, lets me remember this modification on list was in last hour, then i just risk it, but i like the result and can refine this.

    On Tezz: Idk when, but sometimes i miss a roll and no artifact, then started to discourage, and make this move, now with more targets in the deck and with tutors even we send cards to bottom we can get ir making 2-1 things a like, drop a planes find a tutor and other useful card. Yes, he win many games by himself, repeat i just risk this move guess ill put it again, in time

    On slow point: I understand your points, sometimes yes and sometimes no, but wondrously yesterday all goes well, and if i put other drop 2, i guess Etherium Sculptor to make a shell for Tezz maybe. I just would not know what to cut, i guess i felt it by push the build dor midrange, idk i'n wrong

    Just reporting

    Yesterday, have o big holiday event in the store, 62 players .. i cant see exact if i get 13th
    I end the day 4-2 (One finger on 5-1 but lose the last game)

    I face UR CONTROL (2x1) JUND (1x2) BURN (2x1) ELDRATRON (2x1) STORM (2x1) SKRED (1x2)

    i opt to modify the list just for this event, and i like so much the result



    Main modification:

    Phyrexian Metamorph I gave it a chance and liked, never a dead draw make pressure, be copy our stuff or good stuff of oponent. Primarily think was to copy Lodestone Golem to tax more and early, but its good when T2 HS + Myr Superion T3 2xPhyrexian Metamorph

    Sphinx Summoner Since the idea was to tax, i think to swap Mulldrifter for this build to not risk stuck and get the creature we need.

    Big Cut

    Spellskite in this meta i guess skite so, cant find exact word, obsolete maybe, maany removes it cant save and a decide to try this cut

    Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas although he win me some games i start to think sometimes he dont work how i need, and according the book (Next Level Deckbuilding) its not good a card ho not work well all time and i try the cut. (if he was 3 mana PW *dream*)


    Well, this is all my impression based on this day and this build.

    R s good, G offer us much tools like Acidic Slime

    anyways, just think in Simian Spirit Guide even without R ... he can take some lands .. he can ramp T1 or T3 as wel, as normally we have 3 manas, and can add 4 for why not 2 lodestone Gole, and less chance for flood

    i know about Rhonas's Monument just think about trample

    3 manas mass removal caught my attention

    I'n very tempted again in this group Duplicant-Phyrexian Metamorph-Treasure Mage but cant find how fit it nicely.
    I guess is something can complete the discards with nice removal mode in exact moment.

    Duplicant can turn in a 12/12 removal for DS ... can deal Goyfs, Ulamogs ...

    Meta seems infested by big creatures now

    yesterday i had a few games with my friend, who recently assembled a jund, for trade experience, and see this oportunity

    this is what is tested in this week early




    First off all (IMO)
    In happy then expected with discards. In a meta with so many cheap removals, take information of hand and make plan with it is the best path. Does not solve much use all hand to put a big robot early to a Path to Exile break us. Controls i guess is one of worst matchup for us, then if you clean the away the game can flow well.

    On this way, i just realize i need more quantity cards then i bring one more Mulldrifter to my build. Sometimes an old plan can be improved for now, and Trinket Mage works very well, i tested with my friend tron, and Ballista + Collar clear all that big creatures (some of he topdraw and was not discarded) in this case best then Fatal Push never say Fatal is bad remember this hah this is my side against fast aggro (i love fatal push anyway)

    more on Trinket Mage, making he helpful in MB you can free a SB slot and put something better cause your toolbox is on MB already, fiding all hates in Game 2

    Finally, i start to think we can have something Jund's path, Discard problens, clear the away and put big creatures early. (((Superficial comparison)))

    EDIT: for side, i alway consider Silent Arbiter against aggro but never tested it

    Nothing to do here, i dont have any day of game to say something by a personal problem, but my thinking was to clean away removal from hand. yes i feel unsure too, but if not test, we not know how it goes.

    Ballista is my new passion since get it, btw on the focus. How many Ballistas are you playing ?

    The flexibility of ballista help us a lot (in my case is one more wincon with Ensnaring Bridge) remove little ramps, combo pieces and chump blocks make it so good. And I would like to make a point on Basilisk Collar apparently you make the same line of Architect Aggro and ballista seens like Plan C in that build, maybe we can make Plan B in our and run 1 MB. I know the love bye Glint-Nest Crane but have one thing i started to repair, sometimes we play with a top deck and could we trade 2 Glint-Nest Crane for Trinket Mage and make a toolbox for Ballista/Basilisk trade hunt to certain piece and make it removal/lifelink font?
