Does a shop that mandates the players turn in and redraft the rares as the tournament prize system for a booster draft violate these rules?

You own the cards currently in your possession implies that you could rare draft and drop after the final round to keep your picks.

Could a store ban someone for doing as such?

I dont think a store needs a reason to ban someone.

card has had very little effect on the format. It helped Goblins, Maverick, and Death and Taxes. Players have been playing a little bit more bounce or removal out of the side if they actually care about said cards and do not run black. Other than that, not at all.

Definitely zero impact on Death and Taxes.

What gets me is the folks that list for TCGplayer prices (or thereabouts) and then want $3.50 for shipping in a bubble mailer.

    Um no.

This is something I don't really understand. Why do you think this is a ridiculous amount?

I don't sell or trade on this website anymore (I only sell on MOTL and only the remnants of my collection), but I still have mailed numerous packages this year. In fact, I just mailed two packages in bubble mailers, First Class with tracking, to the US the other day. They both cost the same amount = $2.97.

Now I have always charged $3 for shipping because that is the actual cost, but I am losing the money it costs to buy bubble mailers, toploaders, sleeves, tape, additional bubble wrap I put inside, etc. Now I know the cost on that is small, but I don't see $3.50 as being a wild cost at all. That is more likely closer to the actual cost it takes to mail cards using those supplies.

Are you complaining because I could mail the cards to you in a PWE at the cost of a stamp? Fair enough, if you like damaged and stolen cards every once in awhile. But don't complain if you actually want your cards to come in a bubble mailer with tracking, and I won't ship them any other way.

The only thing I dislike about this "beta" is that it is now blocked from work as a "gaming website", because it's affiliated with Curse.

Henkules, that's a great thought exercise, but mulligan decisions depend quite a bit on your opposition and whether you're on the play. A hand like 2x Wasteland, Port, Vial, Mom, Thalia, Avenger is a snap keep on the play against Jund, since I know I can keep them off of Abrupt Decay and Punishing Fire long enough to get my engine going. But it's a much riskier keep on the draw. It's also a downright terrible keep on the draw vs. something like Goblins. Also, it matters if you're in post-board games, since sometimes you absolutely have to mull to hate.

Completely agree, but there were MANY four+ land hands in there that people said they would keep and I have to disagree. I don't want four lands in a starting hand against really any matchup with this deck.

And please don't tell me that I got lucky. That is borderline offensive.

It's not borderline offensive when it's true. Everyone needs luck to win an event that large. Finn has been tweaking this deck for many years and has never won anything with it. Luck is a pretty big factor in mtg.

    Ugh pasttimes is always -EV.

Every PTQ or event I've ever been to them runs god awful prize support (compared to the other midwest TO, PES). No shock they would do something like this.

Those are the most glaringly obvious sharpied cards I've ever seen. Any idiot who packed them together could tell the difference in font.

Not sure how he can scam you, unless he tries to say the box you sent him the sets back in was empty and demands a paypal refund. That is a complicated lie that is hard to prove.

Seems pretty legit, and I've dealt with a lot of ebay scammers. Just make sure you get the entire transaction done in less than 45 days and get tracking #s for everything and you'll be ok. Plus you're getting a discount now lol.

    Renounce the Guilds->
    Wohoooo 1W instant WOHOOOOOOOOO
    Progenitus bye2
    KoTR bye2
Deathrire Shaman -> this is a hybrid right so does it count as multicolour ? if it is than WOHOOO

As I mentioned previously, the only real use I can see for this card is a SB out against Progenitus, which tbh is one of the hardest cards to beat with this deck (I've lost against it many times). Do we want to dedicate SB cards to one guy? I've done it before. But honestly I think this card has better use than Tariff, which I've used in the past for filling that role. There have been many previous discussions on Progenitus outs. lol I even remember Finn's strat of Burrenton Forge-Tender recursion with SoLaS!**

**man that was years ago, lol

As I was trying to think of new uses for the card that was just spoiled (Renounce the Guilds), the only thing I thought of was a way to kill Progenitus, lol. Guess it's better than Tariff!

I started out using the kitanas (Long Swords?) and I thought it was pretty cool. Then I tried the Greatswords and it was so slow I didn't enjoy it. Then I tried gunlances and it was so strange. It felt like it was impossible to aim the shots and they hardly did any damage. The slow weapons in combat just feel clunky. Maybe I'm not used to a game like this but it makes fighting each guy (at least with the starter weapons) take forever because you have to keep rotating the camera to line up with the monster and then swing once or twice while it runs by you. The reason I like the dual swords so much is because you can get a good number of hits in before the camera screws you somehow. I understand they are less damage and you lose more sharpness but its not like whetstones are hard to find.

I'm not sure I have even seen a Great Jaggi yet. And I definitely haven't had my health drop below 3/4 of the bar yet. The starter quest I did in the desert was interesting because the heat was constantly taking your health down.

I was spending a lot of time just going in to the woods and farming around, but obviously I wasn't getting anywhere at forging the weapons (no ice crystals in the woods, etc), so I guess I'll just concentrate on doing each quest.

My buddy had been super excited about getting this after seeing a trailer, but I was on the fence because I usually don't play games of this genre. Then he said he'd get it for me as a gift, so he got me the 3DS version while he has the WiiU version.

We are both newcomers to the series. I find it a little challenging, not knowing what to really do. It's like an RPG where you never level up. I've probably played it for five hours (him less, obviously) and I beat all the rank 1 quests and just started the rank 2 quests (desert).

What I have been doing, though, is just randomly going into Moga Woods and gathering, mining, fishing, and killing the hardest monsters (Ludoths or something) in areas 10 and 11, seems to get the most RP. I have kept every single item that I have gotten in my item box. I have literally 20s of most items, even rank 4-5 ones, though I don't really know the point of hoarding everything. I really don't get how RP or commodities work, what I'm supposed to do with the trader guy, how to maximize value out of the fishing boat/farm, etc. I tried using all of the weapons but they are so damn slow to attack that its hard to actually hit something until I found out how awesome the dual swords are. I know the best equipment available right now to me is through the smith, but the items he wants for them aren't available on Mogu Woods, so I assume if I keep going through the quests I'll come across them.

I feel like this game was a bad one to just jump into the series with. I haven't even seen a large monster or seemingly done anything worthy, and since I have the 3DS version there is no online play for me, though I haven't even tried talking to the cat that lets you go the Port yet.

It took me a long time (many years and many girls) to come to the same conclusion as Valarin and MikeyG have suggested in this thread. Their advice is just simply the best.

Yeah it's going to suck, it's gonna hurt, and it's going to be hard, but you just gotta let her go, stop talking to her, and have her reach her own conclusions. If she really cares about you as much as you care about her, she'll realize that and come back. The only caution I will give you is to not let her take advantage of the fact you're always willing to welcome her back. Some people (guys and girls) will get off doing that.

Its capped as a villager, but make him something else and problems go away. I ended up making him a horse archer or something and it was back to insane skill advancements.

Oh, and then I got his kid, with the +20% skillups ability, and then my Yarne/Severa combo began to just destroooooy people

Oh I did, I took him to Mercenary for Armsthrift and now he is sitting squarely at Hero until I get around at using him again.
