I strongly disagree. First because talk like that really isn't suggesting there be another thread to allow discussion on another track to flourish, it's really yelling 'get out of my thread!', but also, there's a whole lot in common between the two flavours and the best way to discuss the pros and cons of the approaches is to have a thread where variations on the theme are discussed rather than exiled.

I'm running a Hollow One build myself, and it shares a great degree of overlap with the OP's deck. Neonate Looting Bolt BTE Whacker Vengevine and a big 2-drop artifact (as noted above, I subbed Myr Superion to Lupine Prototype) - it's a dialect difference to go more all-in on hand-to-grave play and play that strength into Hollow One, rather than the OP's library-to-grave tactic (arrived at before Hollow One was even an option). My deck is probably closer to halfway between the OP deck and the blacksplash Shadow/Wraith/Call variant, so where would I be allowed to discuss that? What if the people in the other thread decided my input wasn't welcome because I dare run Flamewake Phoenix, like people here are trying to do to people who dare run Hollow One?

Plz don't kill the compare contrast discussion, it is valuable, even if it means others are opting not to play the version of the deck you think is purer and (gasp) want to discuss the relative merits of their variation compared to the grandfather.

This is ridiculous I have never posted in this thread, before suggesting another thread. The original deck in the primer and the r/g vengevine list from SCG recently are completely different decks we can keep discussing it here but my guess is the orginal primer should be re written then.

I think perhaps the hollow one vengevine deck should have its own thread this deck is doing something different then the hollow one deck imo.

How would you leverage displacer in soul sisters match up to help with the win?

Stony is a staple in the sideboard it can come in against affinity, all tron variants, lantern. I face one of these decks everytime I go to a large event which means it makes the cut for my sideboard. Anyone have any insight into the Soul Sisters match up? Do drowners come out because they pump your opponents life to much? Is displacer any good? everytime you flicker something you potentially pump opponents life. Right now I bring in 1 Warping wail and 2 ratchet bombs from the side and 1 EE.

Anyone able to beat soul sisters without a busted start of t2 thought knot into t3 reality smasher? A good friend of mine has been on this deck and my wins percentages against him are pretty dismal unless I get a busted start. Currently playing 2 EE and 2 Ratchet Bombs anyone have any advice on this match up?

Small FNM report for you all I am new Bant Eldrazi but am very happy with the decks power level.

I ended up going 4 Wins 1 Loss for 2nd place on breakers.

Round 1: A fellow on a brew it had big infect creatures but was more midrange with some evasion. I won in 2 games.

Round 2: A friend on G/W good stuff its Todd Stevens exact list. I thought this would be a tougher match up and he actually had crucible game 1 but I just exploded both games for solid wins. Catching coco with thought knot helped a lot. Won in 2 games.

Round 3: A friend on soul sisters I lost game 1 even with an engineered explosives out he went big fast with 2 honor of the pure and I couldn't keep up. He had a timely path right after I played drowner to crush any hope that game. Game 2 I drew 3 creatures out of about 18 cards and I just couldn't get anything going. Lost 2 games.

Round 4: A fellow on Gx Tron. I won in 2 games thought knot/displacer lock sealed game 2, game 1 I was just fast and he saw no o stone.

Round 5: A friend on Esper control/planeswalkers. Game 1 he got mana screwed and I was fast with a turn 4 drowner. Game 2 was a good grind fest where I ground through 2 supreme verdicts for the win. I had batterskull out when first supreme verdict hit and it won me the game later on.

Here is my take on Bant Eldrazi I am new to the deck I know my landbase is quite different from other lists but I really like it, I haven't had any issues with it at all after about 50 goldfishes and that seems good for a 4 color deck. The batterskull and birds used to be 2 matter reshapers and I think they could be again but I like testing out the batterskull main with the bit of extra ramp. The deck seems really powerful and I will play it at FNM and report back after tonight. I would appreciate any tips or thoughts some more experienced players with the archtype have.

How often are you bringing in the engineered explosives? I recently got a hold of 2 for a pretty good price and am curious about some their applications? I'm in the Abzan shell atm with the seer combo as well but it should still have similar applications.

I am testing a 2 of rallier atm but i only play 3 ewit in my 75 I have a love hate relationshop with Ewit.

Oimat I would highly recommend a few more wins cons in that deck. Its really the consistent problem with 8 rack is winning the game. I normally have 0 trouble getting opponent hellbent but then what? I sit there and top deck non win con cards and it sucks. I play this deck with 8 rack effects and 4 mutavaults and it happens to me enough that I think about it. Why no thoughtseize? Is it budget? It is a great discard and would highly suggest it as a 3 of at least.

I like the blackmails and the Tomb is interesting, how often are you making a demon and winning with it?

I will disagree that 8 rack is looking for a long game, we are a control deck but I am not looking to play a long game because I cant control top decks. I am looking to hellbent my opponent and win around turn 8 with my rack effects. I play many different decks and this deck is normally finished a round the fastest out of all my other decks.

What would you play in that 1 slot to further help your beat down game plan? If I wanna do beat downs I'm just gonna play vizier knightfall it does that way better then this abzan version. I want more chances to hit infinite life though because I'm a combo deck. Goldfishing is a great way to learn how a deck operates No offence to pokken or felonious but neither of you are even playing the abzan versions correct? Yet you are the most vocal in suggesting options for it, its odd.

Its for combo density pokken, I want go infinite life turn 4 with this deck or win with a ballista turn 3 or turn 4. I don't mind drawing a viscera seer at all I am not playing a beat down game plan with my deck. I am going full in combo for infinite life or death. If I have a seer in hand I don't have to waste a chord on it 2 is correct from my goldfishing t3/t4 combo offs.

I think two viscera seer is right, if you are including both combos in your 75. I am going to test an all in combo build with a sideboard specific to my lgs for a couple weeks and give this deck a second shot. I am also trading into the knightfall version as I think reflector mage is great atm. Deck list for reference of Abzan version.

Monowhite top again in the recent MTGO Competitive Modern League

Dusk/Dawn is the real deal now right?

Also btw horizon canopy sky rocketed by $16 to those who have and planning to buy (paper)

Dusk//Dawn? Huh? 2WW, taxed by Thalia, and 3WW, again taxed by Thalia seems like it'd hurt, and feels like you'd mainly want the second part in a control-ly MU, where the first feels bad. Good against Rock/Junk/Jund etc., I guess? Particularly in a mono-white deck, which these days, with copters, struggles to get the 3W for Resto staying open, I'm unconvinced on these due to the costs. Seems like the only thing of ours it hits is Thalia 2.0 and the Serras, as well as any splicer golems if you're running those. Not seeing the usefulness, personally.

Got one canopy, got no intention of getting any more until they drop. Which I hope they will, but been expecting port reprints for years, so...

My sideout whenever bringing in dusk/dawn would be thalia so I wouldn't worry about the tax much. think about the decks you want a board wipe effect that targets creatures over 3. The majority of them Thalia isn't good against such as any eldrazi deck (except b/w processors). Just my 2 cents but I think dusk/dawn is a great sideboard card right now against certain decks/metas.

I think 2 Kalitas are becoming the staple in the majority of the winning lists, so I wouldn't be to quick to cut that. Kalitas fills a very needed role in this deck. I am adding two kalitas to my 75 for the go wide agro decks and the burn. I will also use it in the midrange match ups to help with breaking open board states. I mean we play stony silence with ratchet bombs and relics so I really don't see an issue with kalitas and paths.

This is where I want my mana base to be 4 Caves of Koilos, 4 Concealed Courtyard, 2 Swamp, 1 plains, 4 Eldrazi Temple, 4 Mutavaults, 1 godless shrine, 2 marsh flats, 1 Fetid heath( this could be Urborg to)It is possible I want to drop a mutavault for another godless shrine in this build what do you all think? I think this is fine against blood moon decks but could be a bit weak to land destruction. However I don't think any combination makes me stronger to land destruction. My current mana base is 2 swamps, 2 plains, 1 urborg, 4 temples, 4 caves, 4 concealed courtyards, 4 mutavaults, 2 godless shrines. I do run into mana issue with current base but it is rare though mulligans have happened because wrong cards with wrong lands in hand. The color I struggle with the most to find does appear to be colorless for some strange reason. I honestly just don't have room for a wastes I am generally looking at opponents hands before turn 2 and discarding something I rely on my discard to get rid of bloodmoon before it hits the field.

I am running 3 tidehollow scullers main and 5 t1 discard spells, so its a heavy mana requirement build. I have a number of starts that go t1 dicard, turn 2 sculler, turn 3 brutality/thought knot. These are kind of the nut draws but they do happen frequently.

In regards to control I consider this deck favoured against grixis/jeskai control and weaker to UW. Lingering souls is just such a pain in the ass for control decks that it really helps out our percentages there. Personally I don't think caverns are needed. Very few decks side board ceremonious rejection and i don't care about to many other counters myself.
