Do you guys think wotc would print more than 6 walkers in a block if there are multiple 3 colored ones?
obviously Bolas in UBR, Crucius has been hinted at and can be WUB and possibly Ramaz in URG. I'm hoping they print Ramaz in temur colors and make Sarkhan RG again.
Look at the proportion of killed Planeswalkers to Legendaries.
They couldn't even kill off Sorin with this whole stasis thing. I dismissed it because it's an appropriate enough revenge for Nahiri to take. I'd sooner see Sorin dead than Avacyn.
Second that! Especially if Elspeth comes back as a BW walker. Hopefully they bring back Avacyn as the BW sister angel and make her creature type Angel Demon (fallen angel). That would be sweet as hell
But yeah in KLD they could have at the very least killed off Shadowblayde even though she didn't get a card. It would have shown that there's some risk and a price to pay to revolt.
And what's with Advika Taar getting a legendary creature profile then gets slapped on an uncommon?
Since the gatewatch is here to stay, they could at least make it interesting.
You know what would have been interesting? If Pia Nalaar was working for the Consulate. Willingly! It would give the main characters a personal conflict; something they can't punch/burn/sarcasm their way out of. Make them grow as characters!
When Kaladesh's plot was still unknown I hoped for the gatewatch to be siding with the consulate against the revolt. That would have put Chandra against Pia. But, no, they went the easy route: good revolutionaries Vs. evil dictatorship.
IF they had the balls to do it they would at least leave Kaladesh in a state of open anarchy after the revolt, showing the inhabitants tat even if the consulate was strict it was still the best choice, because the rebes are just selfish idiots. Making the gatewatch realize that aiding the "good guys" is not always the best thing to do in the long run.
Or making the gatewatch accept Baan's offer and work for the consulate while Chandra is siding with Pia and the renegades. That's some good conflict
Allied color is the logical next step, after that I fully expect them to make themed decks, one year each deck will represent a specific plane (a good way to show some love to some of the less popular planes such as Ulgrotha), another it may be a year of tribal decks (insert obvious sliver deck here, but I hope we get something more interesting, like an actually playable b/g fungus deck that makes Thelon of Havenwood playable as a commander), and one year it would be "play style" (a controllish deck, a combo deck, a stompy deck, a weenie deck, and a "chaos" fun deck). After that they can start over with wedges/shards/what have you.
I really like the idea of planes as a theme. There are quite a few planes that are very unlikely to get an official revisit, so why not use this product for that purpose?
No. Just no. Draining energy from energy pool should 100% not happen. That's like saying "Hey I see you enjoy the new mechanic. Well, we're going to print ridiculous hosers for it that just ruin the fun." Energy is nowhere near out of hand.
I'd like to see more energy producers that produce energy every upkeep, because right now there's almost nothing like that.
The problem with having energy every upkeep is that it could get out of hand and invasive. The aetherworks marvel deck already casts emrakul turn 3 or 4. Imagine if you can restock every upkeep plus what you get from stuff you cast. It'll just get really annoying playing against that deck.
He's not bad. Just people are comparing him to agent of bolas which is a very powerful card. It's a fringe playable card. I see him being maybe a one or two of in some builds of the grixis metallurgic summonings deck. He can be good in Breya edh decks, i'll definitely try him out in mine. Modern and legacy... no.
