So here's my list that I'm just about settled on. I've softened up to Bomat Courier, as I realize just how important 1-drops are, especially those with haste. If his ability ever actually benefits me that'll just be icing on the cake.
The reason Bomat Courier seems bad to me is because it likely won't be able to get enough damage through to make its ability effective. Even if you cast it on turn 1, it's gonna be frozen on the board by turn 2 or 3.
Angel of invention seems like a card deck could want keeps ur guys relevant in the Midgame creates 3 pilots as well and helps u get metalcraft for toolcraft
I like this. One thing I feel my list is missing is one big creature for late game. I toyed with the white/red gearhulks, but Angel might be the ticket.
Here is my latest iteration, it'll be what I start testing with.
The Sideboard:
The Overrun Package- used versus control decks, especially ones that keep removing pilots. Add in more vehicles (Ovalchase Dragster) and an Overrun effect in Start Your Engines in order to ignore the pilot rule and go in for a single lethal strike.
The problem I see here is that you're relying heavily on one 4x card (Start Your Engines). You only have about a 55% chance of drawing it by turn 4. If you don't draw it and your pilots are all dead, you're in trouble. Maybe it would be better to sideboard in another pilot? Maybe Speedway Fanatic? I dunno, I'm still trying to work this out too.
Veteran Motorist also seems pretty solid. 3/1 for WR with a scry 2 stapled on is already gravy, but the bonus on Vehicle crewing just pushes it over the top. Seems Standard playable if Vehicles become a thing.
Not to mention how well it synergizes with Depala, Pilot Exemplar. My RW vehicle aggro deck is looking better and better.
Do you guys think Metalwork Colossus has a place in this deck? Get just one copter and one cruiser on the battlefield and his cost drops to 5. Another copter and he's 3. In my playtesting I've been able to get 2-3 vehicles on the board pretty consistently.
So far in my playtesting on Untap I'm noticing that Needle Spires always throws off my tempo. I think I'll replace them with basics. Otherwise the deck is performing quite well.
How would you guys evaluate Ovalchase Dragster vs Fleetwheel Cruiser? I'm thinking about a R/B aggro vehicle deck and can't decide between the two for the third slot (after Smuggler's Copter and Cultivator's Caravan). I don't really see room for two 4 cmc vehicles. Ovalchase gives you the better power and a lower crew requirement, but Fleetwheel has better toughness and can attack on the turn it's cast without crewing. I'm leaning towards Fleetwheel but wanted some opinions.
I just got into Magic about 4 months ago, so maybe my mentality is naive, but I'd love to own one of every English card from all core and expansion sets. Do I actually think I'll ever have all of them? No, not really. But the journey has been pretty fun so far. I trade off my duplicates on Pucatrade and I have every needed core/expansion card in my want list (currently over 18,000 cards). I never know what I'll get sent, but I know it'll be something I need.
And I put all of them in binders, including commons, basic lands, and tokens. Organized by set, then collector number. I use 3" 3-ring binders from Office Max with Ultra Pro side-loading 18-pocket sheets (the nice looking black ones). Oh, and I also put each card inside a KMC Perfect Size sleeve before placing it in the binder. So far I have four full binders.
4 Smuggler's Copter
3 Fleetwheel Cruiser
1 Skysovereign, Consul Flagship
Creatures (21)
4 Toolcraft Exemplar
4 Inventor's Apprentice
2 Bomat Courier
2 Gearshift Ace
4 Veteran Motorist
3 Pia Nalaar
2 Depala, Pilot Exemplar
2 Chandra, Torch of Defiance
2 Gideon, Ally of Zendikar
Instants/Sorceries (6)
2 Built to Smash
2 Declaration in Stone
2 Servo Exhibition
Land (21)
4 Inspiring Vantage
3 Needle Spires

6 Plains
My only chance of activating it on T2 is if I get Smuggler's Copter out there T2. T3 could get him there with either Copter or Pia Nalaar.
