I'm starting with a list very close to the one from this SCG video.

    http://www.starcitygames.com/articles/37736_Izzet-Amulet-VS-Golgari-Midrange.html

It will evolve with the meta obviously but I feel like it's a good starting point. I've only managed to get 5 games in so far but it hasn't lost yet. I like carnage tyrant in the main though, I ran in to a few blue decks and they couldn't deal with it. If blue isn't really a thing when the meta stabilised I could see it moving into the side.

So you can only bounce things after attacking. No use for removing blockers then.

I'm interested in the Uncharted Territory list, pun intended. I don't know about wretched Gryff or the basics. I think I'd just go with a 3/4 split of cavern/uncharted 7 mana sources for the Sky Spawners, World Breakers and I'd want to try an Elder Deep-fiend over the griff.

Edit: But, I'm no deck builder I don't know if 7 sources are better than 6+1 for each of two colors, but you also get the uncountable buff from Caverns.

Yeah I took out the Griffs in favour of drowner of hope. Cavern would be good. I just don't have 4 at the moment.

    Main Deck (60)

    Creatures (24)

    4 Walking Ballista
    2 Eldrazi Skyspawner
    4 Matter Reshaper
    4 Thought-Knot Seer
    3 Reality Smasher
    2 Endbringer
    2 World Breaker
    2 Wretched Gryff
    1 Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger

    Spells (12)

    4 Chalice of the Void
    4 Expedition Map
    2 Dismember
    2 All Is Dust

    Lands (24)

    1 Cavern of Souls
    1 Forest
    1 Island
    1 Wastes
    4 Eldrazi Temple
    4 Unclaimed Territory
    4 Urza's Mine
    4 Urza's Power Plant
    4 Urza's Tower

    Sideboard (15)
    3 Ghost Quarter
    1 Grafdigger's Cage
    2 Basilisk Collar
    2 Pithing Needle
    2 Surgical Extraction
    3 Relic of Progenitus
    2 Karn Liberated

Going to play around with this on MTGO. I'm interested in a deck that can play some of the coloured eldrazi. I think they can really only be single colour cost though. I die to flyers so easily so access to world breaker and wretched gryf seems good.

I traded nearly all my cards for tix then sold the tix to cardhoarder. I only kept 2 decks. That'll do for me until modern is available elsewhere.

This announcement is really stressing me out. I have a decent sized collection on MTGO (probably $500 ish?) and I keep going back and forth on whether I should just cash out, abandon ship and wait for the dust to settle or if I should keep my collection and just hope MTGO survives.

They claim they won't shut down MTGO, but that doesn't mean the online player base won't get split between MTGO and Arena, causing MTGO to slowly bleed to death. As the player base goes down for MTGO, so do the card values. Maybe it's best just to make a clean break right now?

I think this will definitely happen IF Arena really catches on. Eventually they'll put all of the older formats on there and move MOCs onto it along with the other big online tournaments. They want to be an e sport so they will move anything significant from mtgo to Arena as soon as it's viable. It will get to the point where there is just no reason to use MTGO.

Just reiterating what others have said. It depends on your store. My LGS has quite a large and competitive player base. If you turn up to FNM there with a budget home brew, you're going to get slaughtered and have zero fun. They actually now run a separate standard event for newer or more casual players. In contrast to this, I used to frequent a store near where I worked, that had a really casual player base and you could rock up with a $20 mono coloured home brew and do well and have a tonne of fun. It depends on the players. I've drawn so many games (I draft at FNM) because of new players being slow and timing us out. I never care, I want this new player to keep coming back to be part of our player base. I think most players think this way.

I will say this, back before I had ever been to FNM I played at the kitchen table with a friend of mine. I built a mono green stompy deck that I LOVED. I really wanted to take it to FNM to play against new people and decks but I always chickened out. I really regret that now, I think I missed out on a lot of fun with that deck. Take the plunge, 90% of players will be helpful and patient, we were all beginners at one point, we've all been where you are now.

I'll be excited about this when I can play it on my phone. A few people have mentioned about the stack but isn't that what the 'full control' option is for? It puts a stop everywhere there could be one on MTGO. I think it looks fine as an MTG Heathstone clone. I don't play standard at all but if I could play this anywhere, anytime, then I probably would. I'm not too upset that I won't be able to play modern (the only format I play outside of draft)because I play modern on MTGO all the time anyway. I feel like if they can iron out the bugs and make it worth while to play, it could be really cool. I'd really hope that they would do what Pokemon do and reward you for buying physical product by giving you the digital product code with it but I can't see WOTC being so generous.

Thanks, the stony silence are in there for affinity but I'm not sure how prevalent it is at the moment. Is there anything we can do about Storm? I know they find rest in peace troublesome.

    Hi guys,

After not having been able to make it to my local LGS on a regular basis for some time (back when infect was a big deal), I have built my paper GW Tron deck on MTGO. However I'm not up on new takes on the deck or what the meta game looks like at the moment. I know about grixis death's shadow and E Tron (and i keep losing to storm) but that's about it. My sideboard is undoubtedly outdated and I was wondering if people would mind suggesting upgrades to the main and sideboard. Back in the day I would have tried it all myself and tested different things but unfortunately family life doesn't allow for that kind of thing.

I've seen some of the Gx lists play a basic of their splash color instead of a Llanowar Waste / Brushland.

Otherwise playing threats you don't need tron for? Things like ballista, thragtusk and wurmcoil.

Yeah, I'm already doing those except for Ballista. Should I be playing that card anyway? I know it's played in Eldratron but how about Gx?

I went to my local modern event for the first time in over four months last night. I played a fairly standard build of GW Tron. I noticed that there were a lot more blood moons around than in previous metas at my store. I'm already playing 4 O Stone in the main and 3 Nature's claim in the board which I think is enough to deal with them but I was wondering if this increase in Blood Moons is prevalent across the wider meta, and if so, is anyone playing anything different to combat it?

Hello all, I recently started a youtube channel where I can post drafts and FNM related things and thought I'd join the community here under the channel's banner. It's no big thing, I'm not trying to become youtube famous or anything, I'm just a casual FNMer trying to improve and have fun.

For any true newbies to MTG who might be wondering if MTGO is worth gettting into I did one of the new player phantom drafts last week, you get to do those for free with points you are given when you sign up. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLm7kfjHzjCorHiFEaNY8jvGnXyiNR6yR0

Anyway that's me. I'll probably mostly hang around in the Limited section of the forum.
