To be honest, I think that Grixis Delver is just better suitem right now. Those that remember me know that I love Chapin's original Grixis list: low land count, Delve creatures as finishers and a lot of Cryptics. Being able to drop a turn 2 creature is great when you need to race, but also just sitting back and killing everything is someth8ng the deck is perfectly capable of.

I think Delver is the natural evolution of that type of deck. It has a faster clock and lower curve, but it has all the control elements that made the control version good. As long as people try to out grind Jund while losing to Tron and the fast decks like Zoo and Burn, we will continue to not do well. There's no room in the format for a midrange list built to out grind the other midrange lists. The format is too fast for that.

Yeah. I agree with this. Delver will help alot with tron match ups

My thoughts on the new lili. We have kolaghon Command. We almost always cast it to recur snap, Tasigur banana king ect. Or snap kolaghon. It's kinda a sorcery kolaghon. I believe it will be good in a creature heavy deck with less counter magic

I've been playing ub control. Now I'm proxy grixis control. I feel much better. Still got LONG ways to learn with grixis. My list is kinda different. I took Chapin list and mod it to my play style.

Alright the ruling on batterskull makes sense. Thank you. He did turn after summoning sickness. When I went to attack.(without token) He was after the match like. "If we was at FNM. I'd let you get the trigger" and pointed out on a miss plays I did during same game. I can see where you coming from rule sharking. I would have won the game with that batterskull too. :/

I agree. This was at a ppqt. So I guess I understand. Still don't believe the batterskull ruling as a "trigger". Took the judges like 5 min to rule that. In the long run. I learned my triggers haha

I dropped my 2x spell Snare and I didn't need them today at a ppqt. I play u/b draw go. Could have played better if I knew match ups. I missed a batterskull trigger. I thought he comes in with the token. My opponent said "no you miss your trigger". Just small miss plays turn into me losing. First time playing competitive modern. Definitely a learning curve. I'm getting better every match

    What's your deck list?

I'm starting to see why he (if that is wafo) not running spell Snare. The meta is slowing down. Except infect, but spell Snare doesn't hit alot of cards in that deck. It sits dead in my hand most of the time. I'll probably drop to 2 in main. And have other counter spells

Yeah. I'm stoked to have this for anti-eldrazi. Still kinda lost on the rulings. Wish it was 3cmc too. As far as cryptic 2.0. Cryptic has four mods to choose 2 of. It's so versatile. Where as escalate Command only hits the stack.

Been a long time since I've been in this thread...

Would it be feasible to run 4 Ghost Quarters in the main deck? I ask this because my meta is all sorts of wacky right now. Tron decks are running rampant at my FNM, and there's at least 3-5 people playing it with attendance of about 12-16. And it's not just all G/R tron either, there's U Tron, and a G/W tron. The main G/R player has to be worst. Crumble to Dust doesn't even work against him half the time since he has 3 sideboard Warping Wails and his main plan against red decks is to use Karn, 3 Worldbreakers, and 3 Ulamogs to keep people from getting 4 lands. The best way I've found to beat tron is to take them off of tron permanently and completely. I've starting running 4 Ghost Quarters and 3 maindeck Surgical Extractions. Then the G/W tron deck has 4 Pithing Needles in his sideboard for my ghost quarters <_<. It's insanity.

Right now I'm running a U/B control deck with Inquisition of Kozilek, Tasigur, and such. There's a fair bit of control, but I usually do ok with control mirrors (heck, I don't remember the last time I lost a control mirror), living end, ad nauseum, other random combo decks, affinity, merfolk, abzan coco, Kiki Chord, and a bit of burn.

The more I keep tuning my deck, the more I keep wishing I had white for Paths, Verdicts, lifegain (like Kitchen Finks), and Sphinx's Rev. Right now I'm running Disfigures and 2 Plumeveil and a Vedalken Shackles to deal with creatures. Would some sort of Esper deck be good for my situation, and would it even be feasible to run 25-26 land with 4 Ghost Quarters and 3 Surgicals?

On an unrelated note, a buddy of mine gave me a pretty sweet sideboarding strategy, not sure if it would work out in any of your sideboards, but I've been trying it and loving it, so I thought I'd share. Basically you put Relic of Progenitus, Pithing Needle, Hangarback Walker, and Engineered Explosives in the side, and a 1-of Trinket Mage to fetch them. So basically you have 2 copies of each of these artifacts while only using 5 sideboard slots instead of using 8 to put 2 each in.

Hey man. Wondering why your also on u/b control for this meta? I run it too. Have you tried bribery out is side for tron fatties? Aslo I've been using perilous vault too. As for going esper. The reason I don't. I don't want to fetch/shock myself to death. Plus bloodmoon

Have you guys tested thing in the ice? It's been working for me. If they kill it before flip. I'm like sweet now my grave titan is free to kill you

Just theory-crafting here, but it seems like it would be best in the SB against creature decks. Give them a chance to side out some removal and then drop a wall/wincon on them when they're not expecting it.

Good point. However I feel like most of the meta right now is creature base decks.

I agree with Niallplaysmagic's your deck trying to do to much. With or u/b control we want to counter/spot removal and board wipe as much as possible. Then land our win cons i.e Grave Titan

Also I have my main u/b control list i. Trying to improve as much as possible. I'll post it later

I thought if you was running 2 color (u/b) and you use engendered explosive. It only max out at two? That is what I was told.

Never mind I figured it out haha

How do you guys deal with bloodmoon? I run a u/b draw go deck and I have trouble with it.
