Not played Infect before and have started gathering cards, mainly based on Aaron Barichs/Kazuhiro Negris latest lists. I did have a couple of queries though (below). Firstly, I admit that I haven’t trawled the entirety of this thread for answers, so if that is a valid response, then I will do that in due course.
Is there any reason the deck doesn’t run any tutors? - I appreciate we kind of want the lament of surprise, but seeing as we have to mulligan very aggressively, would a few tutors help? I’m mainly thinking; commune with nature, traverse the ulvenwald. These are cheap and would help filter the deck.
Is there any reason the deck doesn’t run recursion? - Assuming that our key creatures are going to get removed pretty rapidly (and hopefully not via path to exile), is there an opportunity to run some graveyard utility? I’m thinking postmortem lunge or noxious revival
You beat me to it.... but I think this card has potential, as going wide is something we’re not too good at. Plus the added benefits of more humans entering the battlefield with champion of the parish and thalia’s Lieutenant is not something to be sniffed at... will have to see how good it is in testing
Just want to point out that Bob was considered a long time ago in this thread.... particularly in a few Esper builds. I think it wasn’t discussed too much more because no one posted any major benefits of including him. However, I would be intrigued to see people’s results.
As a humans player I’m over the moon to see this card. But, as a Cheeri0s player this card is rough! However, I suspect this will mainly see sideboard play rather than maindeck. That doesn’t make Game 2 any easier though....
Agreed regarding the azorius, strange my post edit: “improves our Tron and Storm matchup” didn’t appear. I’m not convinced with Rakdos one... the main benefit is the spectacle cost and we aren’t really able to achieve that with our manabase. You seeing it as a potential fit, just for the single card draw?
Agree with headminerves comments. Especially regarding the additional selfless spirit.... a lot of the decks you’re expecting to face will have sweepers. What’s your thinking behind kambal, consul of allocation? I’ve found the card pretty lacklustre and would opt for another direfleet daredevil or sin collector. Is the decks you listed the entire field? If not, I would think about izzet Staticaster to handle a number of decks that can go wider
In regards to the main board, I dropped kessig malcontents a long time ago and haven’t really looked back. However, if you’re having success with it, then go for it! I’ve really liked x4 reflector Mage and x4 phantasmal image.

Interesting list...
likely too niche for us, but still
Thankfully we’re a fringe deck....

Good luck though - let us know how you get on!
