Either way, taking that long to get an initial response, then not giving an ETA when development began rolling again etc were really bad PR management.
First info I got was on twitter back in JUNE after asking them, and they just said no ETA, no beta.
First statement on this site was in AUGUST, 4 whole months after the announcement.
When something behind the scenes suddenly went horribly wrong, people expect an update and not utter silence, at which point it started feeling like a late april fools' joke.
Either way, transparency towards customers is pretty important, especially these days.
