I bought one of those boxes maybe a year ago, and might buy a new one in not too long. I have a drawer full of decks I've built, and I never dismantle the decks for new builds, so basic lands are something that I always need a lot of. There's no FNM's n such where I live, so buying those boxes online from a norwegian store is always cheaper than buying the lands single.
Rules from Wizards are pretty strong against proxies : they're considered as counterfeits. No TOs nor Judges are supposed to accept those in any sanctioned tournaments.
And that is even if the proxies are obviously (crude)proxies, with the originals laying on the table? Damn, that's strict.
So, I have quite a few cards I enjoy using in my decks that I find pretty valueable, so I wondered if it's acceptable to use proxies of those cards in FNM's and such if I bring the toploaders with the original card in it as well?
And more importantly: My printer is one of those mono-colored black/white laserprinters, is it acceptable to bring black/white proxies? I fully understand it's harder to see the color identity of the cards, so (if it's acceptable) is it necessary to eventually use a sharpie to color the card in some way? If so, which way is the best way to do this?
Well, the gf wants to learn Magic, so I built her a deck with various mechanics so she can learn how to play. However, the biggest problem is that she has a slight problem understanding the english language, so I wanted to create translated proxies for her to use (sleeved on top of the original cards).
So I wondered what the easiest way to to this is? I fully understand I have to translate every single card myself, but re-creating every single card at cardsmith or something isn't something I'm too fond of. I'm also useless at photoshop.
The Tarmogoyf gets its stats from the amount of card types in the graveyard. Does split cards with for instance instant + sorcery count as one or two card types? (for instance Failure // Comply
I started playing MTG not too long ago, and finally my collection grew out of the Deckbuilders Toolkit Box.
Now I have bought the Cocraft Carry Lite Suitcase, which has 10 detatchable compartments which fits a whopping 230 unsleeved cards (sideloaded) each, and 5 compartments at 50% the size for accessories.
The case is technically made for tools, so it's really sturdy, with two great locks and a good handle.
The lid sits right on top of the compartments, so even the smallest plastic tokens won't fall out of its place.
Price: about $40
(I use Ultimate Guard Supreme Matte Sleeves)
Scenario: I just gained control of an opponents creature using Malevolent Whispers. Now I wish to put an artifact - equipment, Chitinous Cloak, on opponents creature.
Can I do it?
If yes, what happens with the equipment at the end of turn? Does it remain on the opponents creature, or does it un-equip? If it remains on opponents creature, can I re-equip it on my own creature, or does it now "belong" to the opponent?
And that is even if the proxies are obviously (crude)proxies, with the originals laying on the table? Damn, that's strict.
I'd rather just remove the card from the deck all together then, rather than removing that foil NM Jace, The Mind Sculptor from the top loader..
Thanks for the answer
