Elf's Revenge XG
Creature - elf
1/1
Creature comes into play with x +1/+1 counters on it
Sacrifice Elf's Revenge: Destroy target artifact or enchantment with converted mama cost less that or = to this creatures Power T: add C to your mana pool. use this ability only if Elf's Revenge power is 2 or greater. 1t: add a +1/+1 counter to Elf's Revenge
I think this would be an interesting card for cube.
We always need more useful artifact / enchantment interactions. You could play this turn one to kill your opponents moxen etc.
It ramps, but offers no color fixing, and it can only do so on turn 3.
its not a bad late game card since it scales and can be a mana sink / mana generator.
The biggest problem with a card like this, is it might have to many abilities / text on it?
I wish cube tutor would implement a way to have a live draft on line, Each player could then have a card list, make there deck and then the cards could be sorted. This would also allow for card tracking in case a card disappears.
I run in my 360 cube, but it is not optimized and is likely to go soon. Especially if we get some fun new artifacts in the next set. I also run Mutagenic Growth and Reckless Charge as well just so the cube has a few combat tricks. I don't think he is a 360 staple though.
What are peoples thoughts on this card in an unpowered environment. I run it myself but have been trying to decide if it's to powerful of an effect in my cube. I don't think it is nearly the same power level though as a black lotus etc since Land + lotus gives you 4 mana on turn 1 in 2 different colors. this gives you 3 black mana.
Thoughts?
I think cubes shoulf either run both or neither. Since having redundant effects on lower manna creatures helps make archetypes playable. Not running both is like running only 1 manna dork. Ramp needs multiple dorks for consistancy and reanimate needs multiple discard outlets.
Plus this guy and help green aggro if you are trying to make that work.
Are there any plans to an update to the thread?
It's such a great thread, but is coming up on 2 years old, couple new sets,
any new archetypes people are trying out?
No One has posted for a while here, but 1 Idea we have tried with, is draft you opponents deck, then before the match, you switch card pools and build the best deck you can with what your opponent drafted. The Idea being that you want to pick the worst cards, but if you have a strong cube, your last draft choices can be a killer. Do you take Grave Titan or Balance?
Has anyone decided they have enough discard outlets? I have tried a small push for madness but I can't seem to find enough solid outlets to make it work in red, green or black to make it worth it.
