Are you going to be able to live long enough to get Aurora off? I ask because it feels slow and you have to get to 9 lands. I will say this though. This is not a Budget Deck lol. Let me see if I can get something together with Aurora. I like the idea of casting a game changing card and then beating face. We'll see what I come up with.

I think you have too many creatures and not enough utility. Since you have some big butts sitting there, you don't actually have to out creature your opponents. You can sit back with some blockers and let some utility do the work until you have your Behind the Scenes and Assault Formation ready. I personally would have some hand destruction or something like that to make sure they have the least options available to them to stop you when that Behind the Scenes comes down and ends the game. Counterspells would have a similar effect. You could also go with some creature kill or drawing to make sure you either get there faster or survive long enough to make it.

I envision the game going like this:

Get Assault Formation out as soon as you can.
Hold Behind the Scenes until you have enough dmg out to kill
Kill their hand so they don't have options to stop you when Scenes drops

3 colors with the current set of lands, in my opinion, doesn't lend itself to a lot of mana symbols in the casting cost. I think I would personally cut Catacomb Sifter and Grasp of Darkness. They might be hard to cast in the beginning of the game when they'd be most useful against faster decks. I'd replace Catacomb Sifter with Bearer of Silence and Grasp of Darkness with Bone Splinters.

Hi. I haven't played in a long time, the better part of a decade really, and I'm just now jumping back into Magic. I'm dipping my feet in with a nice cheap deck. I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but I plan on taking it to FNM in a couple of weeks. I think this deck will have some early beats followed up with some late game burn to finish off opponents. I bought this today on SCG and all cards, sideboard included, cost a grand total of $25 with shipping.

I personally would like to think I picked most of these cards for their quality and not their price. The deck has some great early game synergy. The early landfall drops plus the land acceleration can definitely put on some good early game damage. With the right draw you can really hit hard in the face.

    + +

First turn Scythe Leopard with a 2nd turn Swell of Growth putting out Evolving Wild and getting another land and you're swinging with a 6/6 on Turn 2. That's a great way to start the game.

In the mid/late game you can rely on landfall damage to chip away at your opponent's life.

Blighted Woodland and Evolving Wilds will bring multiple landfall triggers. You can also use Mina and Denn to get multiple landfall shenanigans. That trample might allow you to connect for a few damage too.

Finally, the finishing touch of the deck is Harness the Storm

Late game when you've stalled out of your early fury, this helps get much more mileage from the cards you draw into. Draw land accel cards and you can cast multiple times for multiple landfall triggers. If you hit burn, you can cast burn multiple times to easily finish off opponents. And since you spent the first part of the game getting extra lands out, you should be able to cast your instants and sorceries multiple times without a problem.

I haven't played, but from what I've read, the meta is flooded with white human and bant company. The land destruction in the sideboard is for the Bant. Those decks are running 3 colors, 4 if you count the colorless eldrazi splashes, killing lands really seems like it can ruin their day. We'll see. The humans, it's just more creature kill and Bonds of mortality to try to take care of Avacyn.
