Now, I want to start by saying no way is Heir of Falkenrath "better" than Delver, but I feel like they share enough similarities to warrant the same amount of play especially built around maddness.
U vs 1B is a big deal, but Delver is not guaranteed to flip meanwhile Heir is.
And my last question is if Heir was just B instead of 1B, how much of a change would that make?
Attempting to build a deck that simulates the overwhelming power of an unrestricted vintage deck running all of the moxes.
Some things that to be aware of,
-yes there are restricted cards on this list; I'm aware I could build something that worked greater with an unrestricted list, but I am trying to imitate the moxes as closely as possible.
-Lotus Vale and Scorched Ruins are played "as written" in our playgroup, meaning it can be played tapped for mana and then get sacd.
-Other than the cards I already own (Demonic Tutor, Yawgmoth's Will, Crucible of Worlds, etc) I am trying to keep any cards put into this deck cheap, and crappy... but oddly work when they hit the field.
-Some people don't know how tapped permanents function when multiple amulet of vigors are on the field, for those that don't.. if two amulet of vigors are on the field and I play one of the diamonds, it will hit tapped, then untap, I can respond by tapping it for 1 mana, then allow the second untap trigger, and then tap it again netting 2 mana. (that is why I'm not using the talismans)
-HOLY CRAP, everything is going to get countered, this is slow, DESTROY ALL ARTIFACTS! FORCE OF WILL! Lol, I know... I have made plenty of overpowered decks, and I'm bored of them.. I'm just trying to build a very specific deck here, if it gets beat.. that is okay.
So, any suggestions, things I am missing, need to be fixed?
I love almost every format in MTG, but I have always hated the luck factor that comes into play with Mana Screw and Mana Flood.
In an attempt to fix this, I decided to sit down and put a lot of thought into trying to make a casual format that could really grow, and be interesting. The Commander format was almost perfect as a building stone, so I decided to try and build off of what made it so great.
This format blew up, surprised at it's great reception I have decided to share it. If you have your own ideas that you would like to share with me; feel free.
All that I ask is that you don't distribute this format without giving me a shout out.
Hi, at our shop we play a format we coined Freeform-Vintage. 60-Cards, 4 card maximum of any card, 60 card minimum deck. No banned or restricted cards.
Keeping the prices around what is already in the list (no force of will, or Black Lotus lol) anyone out there willing to help me balance this out, add or remove things?
