So my opponent combos out a goblin charbelcher and activates it. When revealing his 45 card library their are no lands left. Then then goes to tell me I take 45 damage. Why??
When you play a General when its removed from the game for the first time does it trigger any activated, static, and or trigger ablities. I was always told it dosent.
example- I play my general Sharuum the Hegemon fromthe RFG zone for the first time, then with its triggered ability I bring back my Sol Ring to play
Im at CIA (The Cleveland Institute of Art) it share campus with Case Western Reserve and lucky for me my favorite card shop for FNM is a 15min bus ride:)
so i went 4-1 at my local FNM last night losing only to the mirror match. I figured that game one would be a race to combo then the 2nd and 3rd game would depend on our sideboards. Well lets just say that not what happened game one i kept a 1 land hand and a Prismatic Lensso i figured i was on the draw i would get my second land and would be good (mind you i run 24 lands) but it turned out i dident get any lands for 4 turns and he ended up bouncing my only land so i scooped and went to game two. Game 2 wasent so hot either i ended up losing to Venser, Shaper Savant and Blink i had a Stonecloaker but it dident help. My main question is whats good against the mirror. My sideboard consists of
i guess my main question is whats better against the mirror stonecloaker or Tormod's Crypt i want to say Stonecloaker becouse he has some good moves with a Reveillark in play i can already tell my meta is going to be flooded with Project R decks due to almost everyone asking for ReveillarkBody Double and Mirror Entity and it taking 1st and 2nd
so looking at this fridays FNM i notice their is going to be a plague of elf decks floating around (including mine but im hoping to purge the rest) and i was wondering what is really good build for all these mirror matches i will be playing? ill say their will be at least 4 other elf builds other that mine this friday. my build consists of
that was my side board for utility last week i ended splitting first with my friend that had almost the same build as me (i ran BitterBlossom he dident) im going to give my sideboard a over haulen but im not sure what i know that profane command wins the mirror and elvish champion can really flip flop a game usually i just side out 3 Eyeblight's Ending and 1 Nameless Inversion for 4 Terrors
i choose terror over Deathmark basically for the whole instant speed thing but im thinking and ive seen some builds online that are siding sudden spoiling im not sure if any one has tried it or not i might MD a couple Slaughter Pact or sudden death but im not sure yet is there any other sideboard tech that hoses the elf match up or at leas the mirror match up and what are your guys (maybe girls) experience with the mirror
at first i was testing U/B faeries but it was too slow for my taking and after reading about splashing black it made me think what if i did i dont think Oona's Prowler has a place here without flash and all but i might consider it after some play testing im not too sure about Vendilion clique either i know it will make the cut but im not sure on how many the only thing i feel may be unstable is the mana base but i have to have Muta Vault that card is SOO good the one thing that the deck lacks now is the spot removal so im not sure maybe get rid of mystic snake but probably not as for the sideboard nothing is set in stone i left some spots open maybe for spot removal i dont know i guess the only thing now it to do some playtesting and see what emerges from the post morngingtide decks
