Maybe you could try a Selfless spirit instead of the spellskite MD. It's just super effective as it can often transform a desperate blocking into a winning "swing with everything" the next turn. I don't know about your meta but the spirit seems much more flexible.
@TuSaisPas My name is leo, I'm also in the facebook group geneva legacy & modern. I will come to play at an FNM soon, hope we can meet there.
About blood moon, I feel that if you are on Naya colors it's always a great deal. Magus in the maindeck allows you to surprise your opponent by chording for it if needed and they will maybe play around it game 2 and lose some time. You often end up gaining some turns or even getting free wins. With Eldritch Evolution, turn 1 bird into turn 2 magus can sometimes win you the game on the spot.
I would also want to hear from players about damping sphere (from Dominaria). Do you guys feel it could improve our MU's against deck like tron, eldrazi's variants and storm ? I like the fact that it's a catch-all answer that can interact with many decks but I'm not sure about it's relevance.
Hi ! Congratulations on your win ! I was also at this tournament with a slightly different version of the deck (lotus cobra and eldritch evolution instead of the wall + nahiris) but with less results
I like the way you twitched the deck to adapt to the meta with the walls and everything, I might try to come back to something more close to this in the future.
Thank you for the insight. I am personally on the lotus cobra + rallier package and I think a lot about trying to add a magus of the moon in the 60s for this mu.
Hi ! In this context, what would you board in against decks like UW control when you are on Naya colors ? Would you recommend to play the blood moon + magus of the moon package ?
I have started with a full chord list and was not very happy in the tournament I went to. I found myself often in situations I wasn't able to chord out of. The evolution list (with 3 chords, 3 EE for me) worked pretty well as you can apply early pressure on the board and chord for key pieces in the late game. You have to build the deck a bit differently to have a graduation in your CMC's. Renegade rallier is pretty incredible in this build. Haven't tested the collected company build because I don't own any Noble Hierarch so can't comment on those.
Have anybody tested including a Bloodbraid Elf as a one of in the deck ? I'm testing it but I can't decide if it's worth including...
I play one huntmaster of the fells md, the lifegain is very important in my opinion.
Will also try the bolts md/paths sb, seems like a good formula.
I'm still not sure about the meta though. Is Kataki enough to beat a lantern control ? Should I board in some stony silence or something else ?
Oh sorry I got the wrong post it was for hoza121 ^^
Thanks for the advices though. I tried to play more chords in the past and I think I prefer the proactivity offered by eldritch evolution, 3 of each seems to be the good spot for me. I will try to jam the spellskite in for some tests. I also think that replacing the 3 oath of Nissa with some path to exile doesn't harm the deck.
I will definitely try the Sigarda as the glorybringer seems a bit like an overkill if I have access to removal maindeck.
As you can see I'm going for the Lotus Cobra + Renegade Rallier version, because I think it enables some very explosives starts and applies a great pressure on the opponent. Lotus Cobra has a smaller body than wall of roots but it's interaction with fetchlands and renegade rallier makes this version, in my opinion and given my testing, more resilient. You only need two lands and a fetchland to get going.
I would be glad to have your thoughts on the deck and especially on the differences between this version and the deck played by Jeff Hoogland. I brought one courser of kruphix in (was playing two at first, but I went for the full renegade rallier playset instead) to insure some lifegain and consistency in the land drops. I also thought it could provide some form of card-draw in the absence of the third horizon-canopy (for budget reason). I also brought a kessig wolf run to take advantage of our big mana and close some games.
I'm not sure about the sideboard yet. I didn't have the occasion to test against many opponent, so feel free to comment on that too.
Maybe you could try running some kitchen finks in your list, to benefit from their synergy with vizier of remedies ? It would help making it a key card, even in the cases where you don't hit your devoted druid. Seems like it would be powerful along with eldritch evolution.
