The only explanation I can come up with for you is that the Phyrexians were initially black, and black is secondary in lifelink now. Beyond that, it's just a powerful artifact in a block full of them.
I played FNM at the Magic Stronghold in south Vancouver last fall while on vacation there. Huge turnout for FNM and one of the most impressive singles collections I think I've ever seen. Plus they were a little flexible on singles pricing. Very highly recommended.
Hi there. I just logged into my Wiki account for the first time in a while (wanted to correct a typo on a page) and it says I'm blocked.
Here's the details:
Editing from Tyrann has been disabled by Magic Mage for the following reason(s):
Editing issues
This block, commencing 13:33, 19 October 2012, has been set to expire: infinite.
Even if blocked, you may still be able to edit your user talk page and contact other editors and administrators by e-mail.
You may contact Magic Mage or another administrator to discuss the block. Unless a valid e-mail address is specified in your account preferences and if you have not been blocked from using it, you cannot use the "e-mail this user" feature.
Your current IP address is XXXXXXXXXX, and the block ID is #16124.
Not sure what I've done to offend, but I was hoping I could be unblocked to be able to help out where I can. I can't seem to contact Magic Mage through the Wiki since just about everything with my account is disabled.
This Ontario law is new to me too. Have never had an issue in the past. Played last week on a patio in Toronto and no one gave us a second look, even the police walking by.
By that calculation, Huey, Dewey, Louie should be returning to Lorwyn
I would agree if MaRo hadn't said Lorwyn didn't get received as well as they would have liked. Shadowmoor got better reviews and results from market research.
Full art lands:
Unglued '98
Unhinged '04
Zendikar '09
So there's at least 5-6 years between uses of full-art lands. And MaRo has been explicit on his Tumblr that while they are fan favourites, its a well they know better than to go back to too often.
As for returns:
Mirrodin to Scars of Mirrodin - '03 & '10 - 7 Years
Ravnica to Return to Ravnica - '05 & '12 - 7 Years
Also of note is that MaRo has a 7 year plan for his sets, so at best, Return to the Scars of New Zendiphyrexikar Besieged will be in 2016.
I'm looking for a little help from some New Yorkers.
I'm going to NYC in a week for a week with some friends, and we're looking for some geek-tacular stores to hit-up.
For board games, we've got the Compleat Strategist.
For anime and the like, Image Anime.
But what about for Magic? What stores in or around Manhattan (by transit, mind you) are the best? Best selection of singles? Best prices on product? Largest selection of product?
And are there any other comic book/hobby/collectable stores that can be recommended also?
In all fairness, I posted this 2 months ago since it was news then. Now people are coming back to talk about it now that they're played for/won it.

I wasn't aware someone was already doing the name and number crunch. Or are you speaking from private information?
