Archangel Avacyn is a solid choice if Supreme Verdict is popular in your local meta. She also mops up elves and token decks when paired with a sac outlet.
Worship doesn't stop life loss, so any of that works. It's possible to inflict would-be-lethal damage and finish your opponent off with Vapor Snag. There aren't many other options with that route, unfortunately.
Black doesn't need it. Black answers the creatures it's strapped to, not the equipment.
how exactly does black "deal with" TNN or mother of runes, sac effects need a whole deck built around them to be effective, you play edict they sac the non equipped or play the delver they are saving and re equip. black is not at all viable against equipment based decks its too easy to play around black without really losing any tempo even if black is "successful" it never translates into their favor with all the tutoring and low cost high threat creatures.

Damnation obviously ignored the protection effects you're complaining about. If Legacy's your game, you have access to the excellent Toxic Deluge. Heck, True-Name Nemesis and Mother of Runes both die to freaking Shrivel. Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek both can take out threats before they become a problem.

Center Soul can replace Feat, but White doesn't get have any other card draw combat tricks in Standard. Blue gets you Slip Through Space and a few others as long as you don't mind tapping your own creatures down.
Yes, your opponent would get to draw. In fact, the clue wouldn't even be a legal target for Kolaghan's Command since it sacrifices as part of its ability's cost, and you can't respond to cost payment. Of course, that would make your second question a sorta-yes because you can't stop the sacrifice in your situation. Sorta, because the rules don't allow that situation to happen at all.

Unless you try to build the deck with a combo-based strategy instead of a fun interaction-based strategy, I think Experiment Kraj would be fine to make a loaner general. Unlike, say, Momir Vig, Simic Visionary, Kraj doesn't really demand an in-depth knowledge of his deck. Cards that work well with him aren't that hard to recognize, unless you're trying to lend the deck to a total MTG novice. The finer points of using Kraj as a political tool in multiplayer might not be recognized right away, but it's not too hard to look at a creature with a cool activated ability and say "I want Kraj to do that, too."
But, it does need a certain environment to be good. This deck was successful because of two key reasons, meta game and matchups. Predicting a predictably aggressive meta plus a high amount of removal is the only reason this card saw any play at all. You'll notice that the top 8 decklists did one of two things successfully, clogged the board with tokens/creatures or removed creatures. Finkel's first loss was against Brad Nelson who played a goggles ramp and burn deck. Finkel's deck was overloaded with creature hate that he couldn't use and getting that removal back did him no good. If Nelson was playing a humans deck Finkel probably would have won.
I wasn't even pretending to predict Season's Past's pro tour performance, I was just saying how obvious it is that the card isn't the unplayable pile of crap this forum painted it to be.

This is less of a case of predicting success and more of knowing that cards that produce massive card advantage are inherently really good. The card also doesn't have many red flags other than a high mana cost, which is attainable given Standard's pacing, unlike, say, Greenwarden of Murasa, which produces less CA and has an exiling dies trigger. You make it sound like a non-exiling multi-Regrowth needs a specific environment to be good, but format pacing is really the only thing that matters.
I also hate this same attitude of as soon as there's some change which is in some way disadvantageous to a format, there's always, ALWAYS, people saying it's because they are going to kill the format. It's a slippery-slope fallacy and it's dumb. Stopping the modern pro tour doesn't mean they don't care about modern. That's an outrageous assumption and almost certainly false.
You have a point there. If Wizards was trying to kill Modern, they'd be more explicit about it, like what happened to extended and block constructed. Wizards has a vested interest in moving players towards standard and other profitable formats, but there's no point in proactively killing an undesired format slowly. I mean, Wizards absolutely should support formats other than standard in some way, but a dearth of reprints isn't the same as executives wishing a given format would cease existing. They have to be aware that many players play eternal formats precisely because they don't want to keep up with standard.
Now if the sets are watered down, Khans was very powerful set, so I don't think it fits this description. Now BfZ was really neutered except for Eldrazi things being fueled by an older card. I think commons and uncommons aren't being as pushed like before. Lot of cards printed as rare could be uncommons, but for limited's sake (which is a poor excuse IMO, just design with a different limited mindset, they are neutering limited as well), they are rare. Some mythics could be rares, but would ruin limited with the current way of designing sets WotC is adopting.
While I agree that constructed is very rare-oriented (and has been for quite a while), I think you're missing the point on how limited influences set design. For practical purposes, the only differences between commons and uncommons are complexity and limited frequency (if Wizards doesn't test for Modern, they sure as heck don't care about pauper). You implied that Wild Slash should be a common, but the reason for why it's uncommon isn't "OMG Shock too stronk!" Khans block limited was notable for the presence of morphs/manifested cards, and testing must have revealed that a 1 mana common that fried face-down cards warped limited. Changing their limited mindset wouldn't change anything in this scenario because they had no intention of excising morph just to accommodate a common shock. Not every irregular rarity can be explained so neatly, but context has to be taken into consideration.
Of course, you could just join the players who argue that limited has a net-negative impact on the game, but Wizards is unlikely to drop the attention given to their most profitable format.

Mairsil's reappearance in card form absolutely can be a coincidence because Commander products are a dumping ground for neglected legendary figures, the vast majority of whom are irrelevant to contemporary sets.
While its value probably won't spike, I disagree with your assessment of Bygone Bishop. It has applications outside of clue-based decks; for example, it makes every creature that Collected Company decks hardcast replace themselves. If any sort of white weenie crops up (human or spirit tribal?), Bishop would give the deck crucial staying power in the mid and late games.
