He has a lot of potential however I would be reluctant to cut rituals that do not need Neheb because I can not always guarantee Neheb is alive and there is the part of the game prior to 5 Mana to consider.
yeah I get that. Just an option since you were cutting creatures and got rid of Purphoros, this maybe the one case Hazoret is better haha
Yo I know this might sound real weird but,Hazoret the Fervent synergizes real well with Neheb and curves right into him. Turns any card in your hand into a ritual which gives you 5 mana, assuming a 4 player table. I could see cutting Inner Fire, if you were to put that in.
I don't know, I might try harvest season instead of like a counter spell because I feel like it has potential. Plus it ramps really hard especially since we're playing weenies. But that might just be me.
What about Gearseeker Serpent? I've been proxying it in my pauper list and i'm very impressed. Sure, broodstar can be bigger, flies and only costs 1 more. But the serpent can come down earlier and eats goofs, tasigur's etc for lunch. It's artifact-hate, bolt and decay proof. Late game his ability might even close out a game. Probably not worth it, but it's been impressive in my pauper build the last weekend.
The problem is 1) double blue and 2) getting enough artifacts to make this profitable to cast. If we had artifact lands, sure he is great but we don't. Also his evasion costs 6 freaking mana. This card is 100% unplayable in our deck.

Definitely considering it over Steel Overseer against BG(x) and Burn. Although double blue and no artifact synergy is bit of a problem for red heavy builds.
Why are people so hellbent on getting rid of Overseers?!?!?! Yes he dies to everything, but his job is to be the worst of our game winning threats. You play him and your opponent MUST kill it before out next turn or things can get real ugly. Is it a bad top deck, sure, but so is the majority of the deck.
I just feel like I want something more robust. I guess since my meta is bgx he dies a lot
What does your current deck and sideboard look like? Maybe Blood Moon is your answer?
If that was directed at me, it's just standard affinity, nothing big, with a couple of shrapnel blast in the side for reach. Blood moon comes down too late for me tbh and the Jund/Junk players know to fetch for basics. Thinking about testing some smuggler's copter though.
