art from Deities and Demigods
Loki stood before the All-father and laughed. He pointed at Odin's follower and a strange aura surrounded it, meanwhile one of Loki's followers grew huge. Then he pointed at Odin's follower again and it fell. "What deceit is this?" Odin growled. "Not Deceit," Loki said, "Trickery."
Pact of Trickery
Target creature gains Spellmeld until end of turn. Target creature gets +X/-X until end of turn where X is its power.
At the beginning of your next upkeep pay :symu::symb::symr:. If you don't, you lose the game.
Odin, undaunted by the destruction of his follower, glares at Loki. "Well played Trickster but here is a trick even you don't know."
Hidden Knowledge :2mana::symw::symu::symb:
Search your library for an instant, then shuffle your library and put that card on top of it.
Reveal the top card of your library. If it is white gain one life for each tapped creature. If it is black each tapped creature gains wither until end of turn.

+1: Put an ice counter on target permanent. Permanents with ice counters are snow permanents.
-X: Put an ice counter on X target permanents.
-9: Destroy all non-snow permanents.

*as last time all numbers are completely arbitrary*
The rare has some wording mistakes and seems a lot underpowered, the uncommon makes sense and seems balanced, neither seem Slepnir though and the challenge was also about flavor, so points off there
Both very cool, seem like a cycle however, not sure there is an advisor with cmc greater than 6 also Jormungand's gets too powerful late game, however both cards are flavorful, help explain the battle lines
Very cool cards, other than both Loki artifacts don't see a cycle but regardless very well balanced and flavorful cards, don't understand how they draw the battle lines but that is a tiny complaint
Both cool cards, cyclish well balanced, however, doesn't explain the battle lines and Preservation engine's flavor text annoys me don't think they would call it regeneration but regardless well built cards
like it but don't love it, I see the cycle and the flavor is there, just doen't have a wow factor like the others, solid cards though
@Seratonin they are world lands becuase they trigger for each land tapped, for instance if you play Enormous Baloth with only basic lands, you would get 7 1/1 creature tokens, world was the only way to stop some one from having one of each in play and decimating the field.

For every non-land permanent that shares its name with another non-land permanent in play, put a copy of that permanent in to play, it is an artifact in addition to its other types.
Make me a Demigod token
Sep 14, 2008So the challenge is two cards in a cycle, both land, one needs new mechanic or other god's mechanic justified and both need to explain the alliances and rivalries between the gods. Correct?Posted in: Custom Card Contests and Games
Will add a new mechanicy thing to one of them Edit: Does world count as a new mechanic?
The rest of the cycle is Thor's plains based land, Freyr's moutainy type thing and Jormungand's forest creature
World Land Creature- Swamp Spirit (R)
~ is Black.
Whenever a land you control is tapped for mana, put a 1/1 Green and White spirit token into play.
Slepnir's swamps reanimate the dead within, preparing him an army with which to defend his neutrality in the coming war.
World Land Creature- Island Elemental (R)
~ is Blue.
Whenever a land you control is tapped for mana, ~ deals 1 damage to target creature.
Geirrord's island floats through the seas, striking down all who follow its master's nemesis, Odin the All-Father.

Cool card, interesting ability, seems a little weak, maybe if Emulate helped more
Flavor spot on
Little overpowered, Recycle is powerful
Who does this follow, also missing that wow factor
Well balanced, could be very weak or powerful depending on the situation,
Flavor is excellent, I could this working for Loki
Balanced, cheap cost, but lower power, drawback ability, but helpful trigger
Freya would love this
Strictly worse than Glorious Anthem, Strengthen cost doesn't help this
Feels very Baldurish, nice work, sadly its not a creature
Wow powerful, maybe too powerful, don't know
Feels right, Devote makes sense in this set,
Reminder text is wrong, decently powerful
supposed to be a Fenrir card, but why would Fenrir take shadow away? Still seems fine
Okay in the power department
Card gets hit hard here, Which god does it support, Stoic feels very blah, not exciting, also it is a late entry
