It's got protection from two of the most relevant colors for removal, of course the effects are going to be weaker. Light and Shadow is the only one that does a better job protecting, and it's effects definitely have a lower power ceiling to compensate.

If you can give them vigilance, they're spark elementals that stick around to block. This amuses me more than it should.

People are talking about this like making it suspend 1 wouldn't break it in half. You don't see how having (effectively) "comes into play tapped" MIGHT not be a big enough drawback on a free rainbow mana source? If they wanted to push it, I could see them making it suspend 2, but they clearly wanted to play it safe with the free mana rock.

I honestly don't get the hype. Pitch spells are something you sideboard out, not in, and I can't imagine this being the best choice when it comes to SB artifact destruction.
It's enchantment hate you can cast through Blood Moon and at cmc 4 also generally dodges Chalice. Plus, at being a 2 for 2, I can see this replacing Nature's Claim in the sideboard of heavy green decks that run that. It even kills Eidolon of the Great Revel without taking face damage.
It definitely merits playtesting at the least.

So, it doesn't do anything against Dredge, Phoenix, RDW, etc. but is pretty damn good against Tron. The alt cost not requiring a life seems very relevant in a fetch+shock format.

Spinal Parasite, I believe the only printed creature wit negative power

I was going to say Char Rumbler for that same reason, I had never seen the parasite. Doesn't look like either are very unique anymore ha ha

Spinal Parasite is the only creature with a printed negative power AND toughness, Char-Rumbler is the only creature with a printed negative power and positive toughness.

Frankenstein's Monster is the only creature that can naturally enter the battlefield with 3 different types of power/toughness modifying counters.

So, it's like Duel Monsters Dungeon Dice Monsters?
I dunno, the whole thing seems really finicky. If your lands are also the board, how are you supposed to keep track of which ones are tapped and untapped? Moreover, how are you supposed to maintain the game state when your format's central conceit requires that you intentionally obscure the identities of some cards by placing others on top of them?
The planeswalker rules seem completely borked, as you're effectively guaranteeing that if they come down early, the rules mean you don't have to worry about protecting them.
Overall, I think it's completely untenable in paper, and I imagine it would take an inordinate amount of effort to get something workable in digital.

So... they're Licids that can't pop off? Or I guess Visions Chimeras (Brass-Talon Chimera, etc.) that are a bit more flexible (though not graveyard shenanigans compliant)?
I think it would play nicer with existing rules if the activated ability caused them to Imprint on the targeted creature, with all the necessary templating to make that work, as opposed to having cards on the table that aren't actually in any zone.

i didnt realize he was a thing and popular. where did he have a fanbase ?

Shortly after the first time Totally Lost was printed, WotC did an article on the text. Then I think there was a bidding war for the original art piece? But basically from inception he/she/it been basically the most beloved character in the setting.

yeah I like him, just wish it added the "or ability" to the last ability. He looks fun and can be a Humonculous tribal EDH commander.
I like the flavor on it this way. He can interact with the normies just fine, but panics and runs for the hills when any of the big muckity-mucks take notice.

I'd also agree you probably don't need the loxodon, and even if you did need something like that, he's been outmoded twice over. Both obstinate baloth and nullhide ferox are just better. Also, 4 main deck ooze seems... really high.
Finally, I feel I should state that I find it weird to play coco without eternal witness. Being able to chain cocos is REALLY good.

I'd probably make it all non-mana abilities, because otherwise it's basically all upside for Tron. Either way, I could see them using Bazaar Trader to protect their land from interaction, and that amuses me.

So... eggs without all the card draw that makes it consistent? The closest you can get is horizon canopy, and that costs you mana each time. I think you might want to consider just teching a few copies of faith's reward into a Bant Knightfall shell. Do the Knight of the Reliquary gimmick and end up with ALL the lands to pay for the spells in your brand new 100% gas deck.

  • posted a message on Is a GP a good place to sell a large collection?
Large events like that charge vendors a table fee to buy/sell there. If you don't pay up, expect to be escorted out if you try and sell to players. If you're trying to cash out your collection to the vendors, please don't. They're going to be incredibly busy, and dealing with someone's entire collection is NOT what they want to be doing.

KCI is dead, so the incidental sideboard hate should fall off a bit... let's claw back some of that meta-share! Also, any thoughts on Kaya, Orzhov Usurper? I think she might have potential as a one-off in the board. She eats Engineered Explosives, Aether Vial, and pretty much anything that Affinity can sneak under a bridge, as well as potentially being a nuisance against RDW. I think that situationally, she can function as a better alt win condition than Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas. Mostly I just want to laugh maniacally as an opponent's Rest in Peace is used to fuel a lethal spirit bomb.
