Sadly i am not, I've been so pre-occupied with classes that I haven't had the chance to actually force myself into getting back into official MTG.
That blows. Well, hope to see you at future events. I'll be planning to make most of the east coast ones (Richmond, Baltimore, Charlotte, maybe even Philly and Boston) whenever they come up.
be posting links to said videos here for our entertainment?
Yeah, we have a few videos up already, but nothing major. Just little test films and a series focusing on a friend of ours. Here's the link: Done Right Productions
And after another long absence for no reason, I'm back. I've missed a lot. Again. But I see Seth is getting back on his set? Seems good.
I've been busy working on the outline and script for a series of shorts my friends and I will be shooting for Youtube, based on my own superhero universe.
Murderous Tendencies 2BB
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant creature you don't control
At the beginning of each upkeep, enchanted creature fights target creature of it's controller's choice that they control.
And the Ambitious Geomancer of the Pack returns from another day of life. It's been a rough one...
How has everyone else been? With the New Year here, what are your resolutions? I've decided to progress more on my custom sets, even if just simply designing cards for them instead of finishing the sets completely. I want to present the Conqueror's War as much as possible, and I feel the desire to complete multiple 3 set blocks is only a hindrance.
Fiery Resurrection 4BR
Sorcery
Return target creature card in your graveyard to the battlefield. It deals damage to each player equal to its power. The power of the beast laid dormant, waiting to be released with a rush of vigor and fury.
"you know guys, we keep adding tothis calendar, and like, these light skinned dudes are killing everyone out there... Maybe we should stop for now, go fix this, get a life, then come back? We've obviously gotten way ahead of ourselves here."
Thousands of years later: "The calendR doesn't continue?! Oh snap! Err'body gonna die!"
I kind of laughed and felt a little bad about it, because of the Mayans dying and all...Then I died at the last part.
No, it's fine, really. I got a lot of disbelief, but I feel it was something more. Even if not just a mental time-travel, then a rather in-depth deja vu moment, kind of a "I've seen this before" when it happens or I came across the source or image. And I'll accept this is probably just an amalgamation of various images or sights; it was pretty sweet to experience of those ideas in one place.
The reason, personally, that I'm not releasing it with a shrug, was I saw my life in the time period as well, aged. That's what did it for me, but that's a different story for a different time.
I'm not a extremist, I accept criticism. Lol.
And yeah, I can agree with a few of the points you made about the sets. Some of the ideas seem....meh. Others godawful, like the space and steampunk ones as you pointed out, so I'm not going to hold much to them. The other ones seem sweet though, especially the crystallized underground beings ones.
Had an interesting time recently, hence the lack of posting or contributing to the clan, but it's interesting enough that I should share with you some of my recent life experiences.
First, unless I'm told otherwise (due to a massive lack of further communication presently), I'm going to be a father soon. My ex, supposably, is pregnant with my kid. So, that's a big deal, as I am in no way ready or willing for a kid, so we'll probably end up doing adoption.
Second, failed a class in college, so family's on my back. And work sucks, constantly broke despite tips.
And third, and probably the craziest sounding thing ever, I time-traveled in my dreams. It was so weird, and because the clarity of it all and the physical experiences, as well as the social experiences, I simply cannot past it off as a dream. I felt the world, smelled the air, and tasted food. Talked to people, and experienced the joys of a different time, and woke up with the sensations still on and around me. It was amazing. Ironically, and probably sadly, I was in my local card shop. If this was a time-travel experience, in a period between 12 to 20 years from now, Magic is still going strong.
But that's not why I'm sharing this with you, it's the SETS I saw that made me want to share with you all. I noticed about a dozen new blocks, and saw set symbols as clear as day, despite being unable to remember them and draw them out, and took in a deep memory of the themes and settings. Here's a small list of sets I saw:
1. An Egyptian set. Figured it would happen eventually.
2. A set where the surface world ventures underground for gems and resources, only to encounter a race of crystallized beings. Believe the name of the block was Crystilium, or something along the lines of that.
3. A set focused on civilizations among the clouds, where the surface world has been long since abandoned and a frightening new race of subhumans evolved.
4. A pirate/seafaring set. Simple stuff.
5. A set focused on a world of various insectile races, fighting over resources.
6. A steampunk set where the technology of steam is slowly being replaced by more advanced technology, and a band of rebels stand against the advancement. It has a very "uprising" feel to it.
7. A set based in the future, among the stars. A rather well received set from what I gathered.
Now, the biggest thing I have to ask...Do these sets sound sweet or what? I was amped for these ideas.

Anyone else on the east coast planning on hitting up the Open?
Fun night.

Yes. Surprisingly no. And not 100% on SOPA, but I don't think it did or even had a chance.
