the various characters constantly forgot their powers, especially apocalypse. He's supposed to be some unstopable badass but most does nothing except have oscar isaac not be able to have emotions because of the frankly B grade prosthetics. In the final fight he should have been able to just sink the heroes into whatever material was available - he destroys all of cairo in under a minute - but apparently forgets. But that's ok, because Magneto ALSO forgets that as well as through stuff that has no effect, he can blast at apocalypse from the ground under him - you know, the thing he is trying to do to destroy the world.
To be fair this is an issue in the comics as well. Most of comics featuring Apocalypse end with him being defeated in an unsatisfactory way after the comic authors have built him up to be an unstoppable god like figure.
I also want to know how much of the entire world did Magneto destroy before he flipped back to good just at the end. It showed him causing widespread destruction on several continents, how much civilization is even left. Also how the hell is the cold war going to play out with each countries nuclear arsenal eliminated? I know they could build more but you can't tell me the next ten years of world history is going to play out the same after that. We better get at least a line in the next one addressing the cold war resolution or lack there of.

That once he took control of Charles and did the transfusion, he would mind control them into doing his bidding. I mean to me he was still super powerful. He didn't expect Super powered Magneto and super powered Storm to switch sides last minute. I think some people are underestimating how Strong Xavier's mind is and the fact Apoc whooped his butt so easily show's how powerful he is. Not to mention how much power he had to use to build his bubble to block super charged Magneto while defeating Charles. The fact it took Super charged Magneto, Super Charged Storm, ole one eye, and Phoenix Jean to break him should speak of how powerful he is.
