Hey, Im a fanatic of tribal decks and all of my existing decks (both competitive and casual) are tribal. Well, I started playing when onslaught came so I think I got it from that.
Anyways, Im working on a Merfolk Orbosition deck right now. It basically utilizes the combo of Opposition and Static Orb to control the board.
With Opposition's tap-a-creature activated ability, I can abuse the Tap-merfolks of Lorwyn.
i miss my cleric deck... i gave it away as a present...
anyhow, the way i did mine was that i used Daru Spiritualist and another cleric with Lightning Greaves. Keep moving the Greaves from Daru Spiritualist to the other cleric till your heart's content. It goes on a stack because of Daru Spiritualist the equipped clerics keeps getting +0/+2 until theyre superfat. Then sacrifice the superfat cleric to Starlit Sanctum for tons of life. If feel like being Catholic Priest mode, you can Transmutation your superfat cleric to deal tons of damage...
Usually, the gain life combo is easier to attain, then just go careless-aggro (i dont care, im attacking with all) after or do another combo for the damage part.

4 Grimoire Theif (we all know she likes being tapped)
4 Stonybrook Schoolmaster (tap it to make more merfolk)
3 Cursecatcher (for control)
3 Fallowsage (for card advantage)
3 Judge of Currents (+1 life wont hurt, right?)
2 Merfolk Looter (just in case your topdeck doesnt cooperate)
2 Puresight Merrow (tap him over and over)
2 Surgespanner ("get that back to your hand!")
15 Other Spells
4 Mana Leak ("DENIED!" - would Counterspell be better?)
4 Ponder (for card advantage)
4 Opposition (deck engine)
3 Static Orb (deck engine)
My concern is that the deck seems so slow. If i were to turn this to a Extended format-worthy deck, what should I add/remove?
I also wanted to add Patron Wizard (17 of the merfolks are wizards) for more control but I dont know which one to remove.
So if anyone has any comment or suggestion, please feel free to add some information.
