Maybe they could bring back Garruk since he has beef with Liliana and Amonkhet could have curse magic that's relevant to advancing his plot.
Is he still actually hunting her in particular? Last time we saw him, he was pretty much content with his curse and happily hunting planesvalkers in general. That does make him a useful pawn for Bolas, though...
I hope we get to see more of the native planeswalkers there than the Gatewatch, we've had plenty of Jace and Gideon cards, but none for these brand new characters! I'd be totally fine without any of the Gatewatch. We know for sure Nicol Bolas will be there, I'm hoping to see Ashiok as well. Vraska could be possible in Hour of Devastation if that Atlazan leak turns out to be real.

As far as I know, Ashiok still has unfinished business on Theros. It would be kinda disappointing if they scratched all trhe setup for return there.
That would mean no native planeswalker, which is unlikely. Also, we just got a new Ajani and Jace had a card relatively recently. Lili did too, but she has strong storytelling reason to appear.
Liliana will most probably show up too, she has one of her demons on Amonkhet.
Another candidate is Sarkhan, Ajani konws him and therefore can bring him along in Hour of Devastation. He also has some experience with Bolas.
That would leave us with:

Lili - B

Recent blocks have closed themselves off fairly nicely, while leaving a few threads for a possible return. We don't know what the fused world of Lorwyn and Shadowmoor is like. We don't know how the battles of Alara are progressing. We just recently got a finish to the Zendikar plotline. New Phyrexia is big, but hasn't done anything. And those three all involved Nicol Bolas in some fashion, so his storyline is probably a bit more in need of refresher than New Phyrexia. But then RTR had a problem and resolved it in one block. Jace is the Guildpact, which has weird implications and consequences, but we've only had one to two stories in the meanwhile discuss any happenings on Ravnica. Theros' story was self-contained, barring the "Elspeth could Return" plot. Khans has the whole "World is now crap, but some remember the old way" tidbit, but things are set and basically finished. They've been trying pretty hard to tie off those loose ends.
There is a lot more to Theros: Ashiok is causing trouble, Dack is there with some special gauntlet and Ajani was undermining the faith in the Gods. It is basically all set up for a return, and now the Gatewatch can get involved through Ajani (although the setup is fine as is, without forcing in more protagonists). I expect a return very soon.
before Planeswalkers, magic speculation was much more interesting. Today everyone is mostly talking about which annoying, returning character will team up with jace to safe the day. again.
Well it's nice to have returning characters people can care about, and even the Gatewatch can get more interesting members over time. Though I do agree with you about the "Jace saving the day" part, they should leave him out for a block or ten...

Today's story just confirmed that Razaketh (one of Lili's demons) is on Amonkhet, so we will most probably be getting one badass demon (he was said to be more powerful than Kothoped and Griselbrand), and we could also get a new Lili, although we got the Last Hope relatively recently.
Yeah but Chandra and Nissa both got cards for Oath and then new card in Kaladesh.
With the story this week my guess for planeswalkers are now; W- Gideon BUR- Bolas B- Liliana

also from looking at kaladesh it would be a safe bet one or both of those walkers would be BR, RG, BG, RW or GU

Here is a crazy idea: What if the gods of Amonkhet actually are all planeswalkers? If they indeed are shard-colored, at least one would otherwise have to share colors with Bolas, which would be kinda weird (even weirder if Crucius is present and another one has to share colors with him). On the other hand, it would rack up the planeswalker count to at least 6, more probably 7. But it could be feasible since three-color walkers are considered very narrow. And a whole different issue would be flavor justification for a Bant or Naya walker working for Bolas.

One more thought about the possible return of devotion: it would kinda fall apart with three-colored gods. Devotion is mostly flavored as worshipping the particular god, and more than two colors simply have too much overlap to convey that. So, if the new gods indeed are three-colored (and I certainly hope so), the condition for becoming a creature must be different. And full-time creature gods would be kinda lame...
I feel like an El Dorado land could involve gold tokens, like this:
El Dorado, the Golden Mystery
Land t: add 1 to your mana pool.
2t: Put a gold token into play with "Sacrifice: Add 1 color of any mana to your mana pool."
Then if you control 8 or more gold token you win the game.
It could also be kind of an Arc world, like it flooded and the pirates and such are remnants of the races who survived, maybe in the second set they find a way to drain the world revealing ancient cities, feel a little more adventury like original Zendikar.
I don't think they would put a win con on a land, since land destruction has fallen out of favor and it would therefore be pretty hard to stop.
Theros would be nice, and the necessary hook for the Gatewatch is provided by Ajani, though I personally would appreciate a Gatewatch-less block. Ravnica 3 could be introduced through missing Vraska, but she might as well be a hook for another plane. Vryn would be cool, but I fear it would feel too similar to Kaladesh and therefore won't get featured soon.
