Mini1994 posted a message on Liliana, the Last HopeIt is also an effect that is potentially repeatable and does not cost you a card just on its own.Posted in: Liliana, the Last Hope -

Mini1994 posted a message on Liliana, the Last HopeThat doesn't matter. The swiftspear will still have -1 attack and the guide will have 0, so you've effectively removed them for the turn being.Posted in: Liliana, the Last Hope -

StarlightWizard posted a message on Liliana's card is called "Liliana, the Last Hope"Pretty sure it's "Hope", Aranthar. There is absolutely nothing else that would be translated from English as "Esperança" in Portuguese.Posted in: The Rumor Mill -

DarthSeniar92 posted a message on Village MessengerFreaking. Love this card. 1/1 haste for 1 that turns into a 2/2 if your opponent fails to cast a spell on his or her turn? Turn 2 hit it with Call of the Full Moon and come in for 6 damage turn 2 7 damage total? Yes please! This thing is a turn 1 beater.Posted in: Village Messenger -

Kryptnyt posted a message on Gibbering FiendIt's pretty nice for an aggressive 2/1, but I feel like 1 toughness creatures in Standard are value waiting to be picked off by cheap removal spells that do the job quite well.Posted in: Gibbering Fiend -

Aaurra posted a message on Thing in the IceWho's hyping it for Standard? All I see is people talking about its applications on Modern. Also, it's certainly not too slow for Modern. You're going to see this guy in decks like Blue Moon and Delver mostly. They've got all of the tools to flip this by turn four if they play it turn two. They've got the means to protect it. And not every deck runs Path to Exile. You can't be thinking with that mindset. Oh, dies to removal, must be crap! No, that isn't how things in Magic work. You know what else dies to Path to Exile? EVERY single Eldrazi in every variation of Eldrazi decks that are dominating Modern. If it was such a simple thing as to say, "Don't worry about that giant, threatening creature, just Path it!", then there wouldn't be any talk about Eldrazi getting banned this April. For that matter, even decks that do run hard removal, they've also got to have it in hand. I run four Paths in my deck in Modern. Do you think that translates to me having a Path in hand at absolutely every situation I might need one?Posted in: Thing in the Ice
Also, you're arguing that your opponent could just wait on playing Creatures to negate this guy's transformation effect? Are you kidding? If your opponent is that scared of it that they simply wouldn't play creatures for several turns potentially, you should have already won the game based off of sheer tempo value alone. If anything, that is a GOOD reason why you'd want to play this thing. But no, in real games, no smart player is going to just hold back on their creatures, losing out on board state and falling behind just because of this. -

Depends on your deck. If you're playing aggro, chances are you want turn-1 mana fix and on this case the Shadow lands are better. On the other hand, Shadow lands suck very bad for mid-range decks because you'll want at least 3-4 lands in play so top-decking one of these is really bad and even if you could play it, revealing the opponent you just have a basic land on your hand is bad.

It's the Drownyard Temple.
The flavor of the card reads:
"This is it! All the cryptoliths point here!"

He's also Human!
Human deck confirmed.
Nissa, Voice of Zendikar + Anafenza Kin-Tree Spirit + Thalia's Lt. + Inspiring Call and I can go on and on.
I can't wait to brew with these.

That's what happens after a block with fetch lands, too much shuffling is bad for your fingers.
