Lets say my opponent plays a non creature spell say a opt and I negate the spell. My opponent in response plays spell queller. If I let it resolve and while the opt is on the stack. Can I then lightning bolt the spell queller in order to get my negate back to counter the opt? Or how would this work?

I play a similar 22 land list with 4 opt but instead of 3 lightning angel i play 1 clique and 2 spell snare.

It does decently well enough to have fun. I tried his list but with mantis rider instead of the angel yesterday and it didnt do well at all. So idk how hes has so much success with it.

I like Jeskai Tempo alot. Its one of if not my favorite decks. However, i run 22 lands which is somewhat unconventional though it did gain some popularity. I was looking around for similar lists to mine. (22 lands, unconventional cards like mantis rider, lightning angel since i run a single of steel of the god head) and I found his. Been wanting to ask the guy questions and decided to just look up that user name on youtube and found his list and talked to him a bit. I like his take on the tempo list and he has pretty solid advice on things like running opt as opposed to serum visions and things of that nature. Watched some gameplay of the list and its pretty solid, his gameplay is really tight and imo he hardly makes mistakes.

Hey guys was trolling the web for jeskai decks

    Check out this list

    https://www.mtggoldfish.com/archetype/modern-jeskai-control-52511#paper

    Recent 5-0

Seems pretty cool. A little different than whats been on the scene and what the latest buzz has been about.

I run a stock 19 land burn deck and find that I always have enough mana by turn 4-5 to cast a bigger spell. Not only that games that run longer which seem to be alot in this meta really gives me the feel bads when im top decking lands over and over. At least chandra can help filter or even deal a steady two in the long games while you protect her with your small creatures that arent able to attack against goyfs, TKS, shadow, anglers, etc etc. i just find that the deck needs something a little extra when your creatures cant attack and your in top deck mode which is not uncommon.

Has anyone tested a 1 of chandra torch of defiance maindeck? Ive been rather unhappy with the full play set of skullcrack in the main board i want to try a 3/1 split with skull crack and chandra

How do you feel about abrade? I have changed my sideboard to that 15 card approach as well except 2 abrade. Its pretty versatile in the current meta vs affinity, humans, etc

    What do you think?

Havent posted in some time. I have had alot of success with this list. The baloths were replaced by the champs.

The deck feels great and I feel is really tight in its play. Has answers for alot of decks and I am hopeful that with the printing of damping sphere it will give it a huge chance vs what i feel is the toughest matchup(tron).

So I mentioned the other day that baby Karn could put affinity on the ban hammer radar again.

I think Zyrnak proves this point pretty well. Turn 2 7/7 followed by turn 3 8/8...

This is some very powerful stuff. Good sh** Zyrnak love your content.

I see. Well you are right. Im a noob on this deck. But after looking through the forums i realize this is more of an aggro deck not a ramp into fatties deck.
Though can you explain to me why the inclusion of master of etherium?

I just dont feel his potential is that great in this deck. There isnt very many artifacts. Wouldnt it be better to play equipment or something? Instead of master?

Idk if you run him or not but i see alot of others do.

whats wrong with it? Its just a different take. I dont understand the point of saying you see something wrong and offer no points of views or issues you think you see. This list is solid. Its not the best but I never claimed it to be. I beat jund and esper control both 2-0 today so the results are there. Jeskai control however was a different story.

im new to this board but was drawn to this deck because of zahid and artificers assistant. Both of which i dropped out of the deck upon playing.
I also dropped loadstone golem as I prefer to put in more powerful or useful threats. This is my current build. I am even considering main boarding amethyst as a two of bc the affect is good but just not on a 4 drop creature imo.

I originally had the assistent and a zahir djinn of the lamp. Both are sub optimal. Sage imo is far better then the bird especially if you cant land a artifact till turn 3-4 which makes your bird just sit there. Sage is perfect and the inclusion of fetches helps so much if you only want 1 out of the four he filter. Glint nest crane helps so so much when you are set up with no place to go. I have managed a turn 4 inkwell leviathan and myr superion off of a turn 1 sage, turn 2 glint nest crane and turn 3 architect into a immortal sun. Which is a segway to the next point.

My previous build suffered in that it dumped its hand and was set up with no place to go. Immortal sun is the truth. i run 2 because it is just so so good and sage has pretty good synergy with it too.

Secondly, glint nest crane took the place of etherium sculptor. Late game after removal has been administered by my opponent i find sculptor to be a really poor draw. Where as glint nest is can refill the hand to something you may need or can use in that moment like a ballista or hangarback.

Anyways i think this build helps alot with consistency. I have never played lodestone golem as i just cant get sold on it. As i mentioned above If i need the effect i bring in the amethyst which is really good against control and the like as you all probably know. I also believe the inclusion of spellskite mainboard should be looked at more closely in this meta especially his ability is just made for this deck. Protect the engineer and architect so we can get the fatties out. Anyways still testing any advice is great.
