What happened with old wording "with converted mana cost"?
I think it might be cause of a quirk in the rules...?
Like "With converted mana cost 2 or less" would mean that it couldn't even target a creature with cmc 3 or 4 for it's Revolt effect to even work. With this wording it can target any creature. It just only has an effect if that creature meets the criteria (cmc 2[or 4] or less).

At the beginning of your upkeep, flip three coins. If all three come up heads, take another turn after this one. If all three come up tails, you lose the game.

So, at first I really didn't want to make a tribal lord (+1/+1), instead I decided I would try and make a Legend that encapsulated what exactly it meant to BE a satyr. The two major things that stick out to me about Theros Satyrs are Revelry (expressed as tapping for mana) and Recklessness (indiscriminate damage). But then a quick Gatherer search reminded me that the overwhelming majority (12 out of 16) of Theros Satyrs only have 1 toughness, so using his burn ability even once would basically be board wiping yourself if you were playing him in a tribal deck, so I had to tack it on. C'est la vie.
Alrighty then, NEXT: An animal commander. Not an anthro character like Aven, Ainok or Leonin, but just a plain ol' regular animal of some kind.
I think that Nahiri has an additional reason to not join the Gatewatch. (Or anyleague of planeswalkers really.)
Think about it. She's already been a member of a Planeswalker club, and what did it get her? Millennia spent playing warden to eldritch beings while her home plane suffered their corrupting influence, the apparent disregard of those very planeswalkers who were supposed to be there for her, 1000 years locked in a hunk of magical silver by her supposed friend and ally, and her home plane destroyed by the very entities they were supposed to contain.
If anything I'd expect Nahiri as a Gatewatch antagonist just out of pure spite.
Domri may be of a more wild spirit, but he cares about nature much as Nissa and Ajani do, so I could see him being the RG representative of the team (not like Garruk's likely to join anytime soon, so the beastmaster niche needs someone else to fill it).
Arlinn actually wouldn't need DFC support off of Inistraad. It was mentioned in her first story one of her stories that she couldn't shift until she returned to the plane, so any off-world appearances for her she'll simply be locked into a whichever form she 'walked in just as she was locked into her wolf form the first time. (Wizards, it seems, thought about such possibilities ahead of time.)
I don't think the rules have changed, I just think that we've found an exception.
We know that the life forms on Kaladesh (other than Humans for some reason) have been altered as a result of the ever present Aether within the plane. Elves in particular have a strong link to the plane's aether (Great Conduit) and it's possible that this alteration/link provides some unique protection from the chaos of the Eternities. It's also possible that the portal device she was working on acted in some way as a buffer. Plus the way it was described, her physical body didn't seem to have been exposed to the void (she was still physically present in the Spire Inquirium), it was only some detached sense of her awareness.
So I've wracked my brain and can't figure out who Liliana is talking about here. "We only kill ugly things, then? Because the short one, he would've still qualified." Who is the short one? Am I missing something?
She had just killed a group of Consulate guards (who saw her and Gideon leaving Yahenni's penthouse.), she was speaking to Gideon, and referring to one of the guards (who was apparently short and ugly).

Whenever another creature you control blocks or becomes blocked by a creature with greater power, you may untap it and remove it from combat. If you do, Fa Mulan blocks or becomes blocked by that creature instead.

So, obviously she's a soldier, and her ability is there to represent her taking her father's place in the army. I'm not too sure of the wording for it, but it's intended to let you remove one of your creatures from a loosing match-up and sub her in instead.
(EDIT) It occurs to me that I designed yet another combat oriented boros commander. sigh
