So it's established then. All the boys like Gideon. Wonder if he'll be charmingly oblivious about it all while everyone else stares at him in utter disbelief at "how could he NOT know?"
And it was Jace who noted Gideon having "striking eyes," not Ral.
Went back and double checked Project Lightning Bug, nope, definitely Ral.
After another minute, Jace spoke up. "Lightning or no, I'm about to scour your head if you don't tell me what we're watching for."
Ral frowned. "It should have happened by now." The clouds above were silent—no telltale pop of thunder, no indication of a planeswalk. "It's a Planeswalker I've been tracking. One that the others in Project Lightning Bug haven't discovered yet. He usually appears here every evening."
"Every evening?"
"Like clockwork. He arrives, does some visiting around the city, and planeswalks away again before morning."
"Who is he?"
"I don't know. Human. Tall. Broad. Striking eyes. Seems to have some contacts among the Boros. I haven't had a chance to get in contact with him."
Jace pulled on his lip. "Why did you want to show me this person?"
About the whole "lgbt" part started on this thread (which I personally approve, since it only makes sense that on different planes, there are different ways to think of sexuality), last year we got Alesha, our first explicitly trans-gender character, which I thought was awesome, especially because of the clan they put her in.
Also, I'm totally up for old-looking planeswalkers, because I'd fear more a mature walker than a scrawny-looking 20 year old guy. And give us some dad-bod walkers too that I can cosplay, WOTC!
I'm an lgbt with a dad-bod, (and while I'm still a 30something I do have a notable amount of grey hair) so two thumbs up from me.
I'd like to see a character which can totally fit into the current marketing paradigm of 20-30 and can be smoking hot if they want. How about a married character? Or a character who actually has children? Or better yet both. You can do this in any number of ways? A character who feels the pull between being able to go anywhere but always feels the pull to go back, a jackass who doesn't live up to their responsibilities, A lover who has stories of places beyond reach with gifts from world's not seen witt a gift the other can never understand.
I think the most frustrating part about the characters of MTG is not they do write, because I like most of the rest of the people on this forum do read it, but all the wasted potential of what they could write but don't.
Tamiyo fits several of those qualifiers in some way.
When she and Jace linked minds he saw children, not specifically stated to be hers but implied to be. Likewise she brings stories of her travels and learnings back home to Oboro, again not specifically to her family but rather to her people. One could reasonably assume she might tell her family all about it in person while she's home.
Is anyone else reminded of Rhianna every time they look at Kiora, or is it just me? I dunno, there's just something about her that my brain connects the two.
I think this is how humanity's survival could play out:
Spoiler regarding vampires
We know that Olivia dies, we can reasonably assume Edgar Markov died in Nahiri's attack on Markov Manor. This leaves Runo as the only know surviving head of a bloodline. If he dies as a result of Emrakul, then they could explain it as having severely weakened the vampires as a whole.
Arlinn and her pack could be enough to hold off the feral werewolves, and indeed it's possible that many of the werewolves in other packs could well seek her out so they can learn to control themselves.
That means that Sigarda and any other angels left, along with most humans would be left mostly facing off only against the demons/devils, zombies and giests.
They would likely need to consolidate into a smaller, more easily defensible area, but a rough sorr of balance night be possible.
Well, considering they're switching to the new planeswalker decks, it's possible that we'll see an increased number of new planeswalkers in the coming years. They could take the more rapid introduction of new planeswalkers as an opportunity to diversify their ranks, and not be stuck having to repeat use of a potentially unpopular character introduced this way.
Fingers crossed.
I would be happy with the gay male planeswalker being from just about any plane or species (they're likely to be human or at least near-human no matter what).
Well, the only thing I can say for certain, is the Innistrad of the original block had a population of at least two million. Planeswalkers are roughly one in a million. There were two living ones from that generation, Arlinn and Tibalt.
There was actually a third planeswalker from Innistrad, Vronos, who Garruk killed after Avacyn sent him to bring Garruk back so she could try curing his curse.
To be fair, there aren't really any MALE planeswalkers with visually apparent age of 50 or more, either.
Ajani's Goldmane and Steadfast are about it, largely because he has a beard in those two pieces of art. Vengeant, Caller, and Mentor are a lot less determinant, at least partly due to his non-human species.
I think what exacerbates the difference between the genders is the homogeneity of body type among female planeswalkers compared to male.
Male planeswalkers have a pretty good spread of builds, from Domi Rade through Garruk, where almost all female walkers have modelesque frames.
I was pretty stoked to see that Arlinn Kord was a more mature age than the typical 'walkers. We got us a Sigourney Weaver, now I'd love to see a Hellen Mirren.
Or maybe I just read too much fan fiction.

Go go love quadrangle?

We don't know about a partner/spouse though.
I had been avoiding the obvious beefcake, yeah. But you're not wrong.

ETA: spoiler tag, whoops

Are we talking Planeswalkers and Legendary creatures/characters only, or does any card art count?
Cause yeah Venser, but also Ampryn Tactician.

If nothing else, the hate sex would probably be amazing.
I honestly think he'd have been more inclined to eat Sorin.
