I haven't really played competitively since Shards of Alara block came to a close with Alara Reborn, and even then I didn't get too many cards from that set. come end of july, beginning of august I should be getting a nice check in the mail, in which I plan on buying at least 3-5 boxes of magic. Obv, M11 is a definite 1 of, should i buy one of each box in standard to get my trade? or should I just buy 2 or 3 boxes of 2011 and try and get trade from those? or would singles be best way to go?
don't go with that build, instead lets operate off your original build. First of all, i find Rip-Clan crasher like Dial-up internet. Broadband is just better. It has haste, but Cerodon Yearling has haste AND vigilance. so -4 rip-Clan Crasher, +4 Cerodon Yearling. Birds of Paradise is very important in this deck, the only better option being Noble Hierarch. i would say -3 Stewart of Valeron, +1 Bloodbraid elf, +2 Birds of Paradise. and the pridemages are more of a sb card anyways, so -2 Pridemages, +2 Naya charm. Naya charm is HOUSE against the faster aggro decks (kithkin, r/g, etc).
yeah lol, except i use Lightning bolt instead of path to exile, because it does basically the same thing except my opponent doesnt get to thin out their deck and get a land.
Just s light modification of my original deck, taking out colossal might and instead putting in spot removal/burn. Im thinking of moving realm razer to MD, and replacing the sb options with 3 Burrenton Forge-Tenders. Any suggestions? it would prob look like -1 Cerodon Yearling, -1 BBElf, +2 Realm Razer.
too slow... i think im going with Cliffrunner behemoth, as its a good beater and allows me to gain some much needed life against elfs, soldiers, and the WW decks. this deck hosed R/G beats, which I feel is a tremendous thing.
ok, i kinda wanna keep the theme zoo animals, however the deck isnt going to stick to the 20 lands/20 creatures/20 spells ratio. I would like to keep it semi-budget also, although in a few weeks it shouldn't be an issue.
I know... no BBE, however i dont feel i need it. Its too low toughness, and doesn't survive removal like spellbreaker does.
EDIT: the Mayael's Aria aren't working out as well as i thought... replacements? I put act of trason in there, as i think so far thats a viable option. OR it could be 3 cliffrunner behemoth... lemme know what u think
spellbreaker behemoth is cheap $ wise and Mana wise, plus its a 5/5 with a somewhat relevant ability. It survives almost all removal, and it fits in Naya colors.
how has this been doing at tourneys? and im curious as to how well the realm razer is working... my deck has top 4'ed the lsat 5 tourneys, 3 of which i got top 2. same decklist as in here in case your wondering. My worst matchup is tokens, which is where Naya Charm and Volcanic Fallout come in. The main difference between your deck and mine is speed, something that is very important in my meta, as you have to be able to outrace the typical aggro deck.
Its rather interesting that 2 posts suggest 2 different ways to go about this, I'm glad that i joined up in here and i'll try out both suggestions once i get the cards. They both seem rather interesting though losing the knights to add oneshot pump spells is a bit of a turn down for me but i'll try it anyways.
Trust me, KonA gets burned right away, or pathed, or terminated, or countless other ways. your opponent doesnt want that thing around. So rather than having to waste 2 spells (usually) to get rid of w/e threat Colossal might is pumping, your basically having ur opponent only do one. Plus, Colossal might +woolly thoctar=amazing, and weenies chump block does nothing, except prevent maybe 1-2 damage of 9. with the new rules now, at the end of blockers step you colossal might and watch your opponent go "...oops, should have saw that coming..."
1.) Jund Hackblade? He good in the early game... where I have zero multicolored.
2.) Volcanic Fallout? Though it can hurt me, it only kills Vanguard, Teeg, Bloodbraid, and a Nacatl if I don't have both a plains and a mountain in play before it goes off, not to mention that most players wait till my turn, usually when I attack, so i can just pump with Colossal in response to save a creature and do some heavy damage. Also game 2 I just side out Vanguard for Forgetender, problem solved.
3.) Cliffrunner Behemoth? Although i agree he is good, I would like to avoid having more 4CMC cards in the deck. He is somewhat expensive and fairly bad on his own.
sorry i was under the impression that you wanted to win. you can't go about thinking you are ALWAYS going to have an answer in your hand. Things go wrong in magic, you draw bad hands, etc. You have to be able to adapt though, and you can't adapt if you keep playing it out in your mind that you are going to have the god-hand every single game.
1.)Jund hackblade IS good early game, but thats not the ONLY time he is good. Cascaded into, its basically a Lightning bolt that your opponent HAS to deal with.
2.)The only things that live are your Ram-gangs and Thoctars. Possibly Nacatl, and if your opponents had any sense at all they would volcanic fallout at the END of your turn, when u are tapped out.
3.) its a WHOLE hell of a lot better than most other 4 drops. Even if u only run 3, it would still be worth it and save ur ass against the opposing aggro decks. Even if they use a burn spell on it, thats one less burn spell aimed at your face to allow you the opportunity to use colossal might for something other than saving your creatures and maybe even, yes thats right, win.

ummm... semi-budget usually means under $100, not spending $100 for each playset in the deck.
