Any comments on why Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth is not played in Junk... can fire off T1 IoK and Thoughtseize, allows fetching for green more aggressively (to liken it more to Twilight Mire), allows you to tap your fetch lands if you want to save them for Revolt...

Spoilery questions for all you smart people:
Fatal Push may be a reasonable SB alternative to Path, but on the whole I can't see how it is anything but a net negative to have more cheap instant removal around.

Have had company boxed up with too much guys hate and red in our meta, happily on Junk right now, And FP is just another nail for AC sadly. Hoping for a dredge related ban now to get back on track.

FP going to help lantern and grixis of course but otherwise will mostly replace existing less efficient removal rather than make more. Not sure how much room it has in a creature toolbox tho...

Many thanks for the detail and clarification, Xenphire, this is what I suspected. It is actually good news, because we want to play Modern (so few of them), and now we have a lot more geo-options (Standard GP with Modern side play instead). When I thought about it, the environment was probably more important than the main tournament for that first visit anyway, or at least that is how we hear it from friends who have gone. They never talk about their actual GP games, even though they did relatively well. If we didn't have to work, a week in Las Vegas sounds like the holy grail of fun.

Am trying to understand what a typical Saturday schedule looks like. The Primer gave great detail through the first match, but I understand you play 9 matches on Saturday, so that's more or less 9 hours right? How long between rounds? How does anyone find time for side activities and vendors when there is that much match play? Is there a bigger break in the middle of the day for meals? Just trying to understand better, because will not be able to arrive until very late Friday and do not want to feel rushed the whole weekend. Thanks in advance for your contributions.

Not arguing but rather asking why Shambling Vent played twice over Hissing Quagmire?

Wait, so other than being BTE 5-8 (which isn't really used in anything except a few decks), what would make this any better, particularly with revolt?

Only thing I'm really seeing is mono green stompy...

It's essentially a free 2/2 for a card slot, not mind-blowing when it comes down to it, really only useful for tricks like Bushwhacker and Talara, etc., not saying those are not good tricks, but you are right, it's only a few decks. Thing is, those decks were quite good already. Another good deck would be tribal humans (attribution)

Sram's Expertise way to situational to merit more than 1 mb. Fewer Paths than Fush, might even keep Dismember sb for those pesky pump decks...

Anyone think Fatal Push is going to be enough to justify sticking to g/b possibly? It doesn't change the whole game but does having a 1 cmc removal card like every tier 1 deck does, matter enough to be able to drop some hate cards?

Fush may well have me playing this deck again. Bye Great Revel. Hello Nihil Spellbomb. .99 instead of $$ for extras of Abrupt Decay or Beast Within. What's not to like!?

With Fatal Push on the horizon, these token producing walkers definitely take a step forward. Still, Gideon would look better.

    Hey guys,

What's your sideboard plan against Kiki-Chord and Abzan Company? What are you siding out? We cutting discard or cutting lilies? Or both? Thanks

I come from Abzan Company and it's a superior deck, but has been hated out too much around here due to Dredge and the sideboard folks bring in for that. When Dredge chills out or bans, I will be back on Company.

Last Hope is great against these decks. I carry 2x Grafdigger's Cage and Linvala (in an Hierarch package only) destroys Kiki-Chord. Scooze obviously pauses Abzan Company. Finally, due to our meta, I carry Celestial Purge sideboard as a 5th path.

In our meta so much red in plsy so like 2-3 rhino for life gain and to finish off games... Shunning Bob for life loss and making room for the flayers and rhino plus one main board anafenza... And a pair of blooming Marsh also to save life.

Two cents from my meta... you've got plenty of other formats to be hyper-competitive and be all about winning. EDH is about fun in our LGS and it is a fact that the funnest games come when everyone's decks are firing. EDH isn't just about my deck being better than yours or precisely tuned, it's about seeing everyone's crazy decks and some janky cards not seen elsewhere. Let negotiation keep the lead player in check. MLD just makes everyone unable to play, completely stupid, thanks for wasting my Thursday night. We don't ban anything, but play MLD and just try to sit at the main table again, everyone will get up and move to a different table. If you have a legitimate LD strategy, maybe everyone doesn't ostracize you.

No different than the rest of life, everyone can be an ********, but some people actually know it and some people actually care.
