4 "random" votes on one person, and we're only at the top of the second page? This is really fishy - this may be my first game, but I've read others, and have NEVER seen a bandwagon develop this quickly.
By the way, 2 or 3 random votes on one player is not that bad ; I would rather have that person defend him/herself and then see whether I shall unvote.
Defend against what? Its the beginning of the game, random vote stage, and you are already holding people's feet to the fire?
I'm definitely not being critical of any specific person or persons, just trying to bring up what a see to be a weak point (a way for new players to get in to the games) here, which otherwise, seems to be run amazingly well.
Just "perspectives from a new player", if you will. Thanks for the responses!
I discovered Mafia here a couple weeks ago and have read as much as I can about it, so I registered to try it out. It appears to be very hard to get into a game as a new player/member on the boards. Two games were running signups (Vanilla and Mushroom Kingdom) so I applied for both, explaining that I was a new player that wanted to play. I was selected as a replacement for both.
A couple of things bug me about this - for a new player, it would make more sense for them to play from the beginning instead of being a mid-game replacement (as far as I can tell, it is hard to be a replacement). Second, the Council thread says you can only be in one type of game at a time, but at least 2 or 3 people both signed up for and were admitted in both games (Vanilla and MK). I can understand people playing multiple games - I'd like to also, eventually. But when some people are in every game, and other people are in none, it's frustrating for the newer player.
If it is because I am new, I can understand that too. But with a lack of a newbie game (the last one ended more than a month ago, and it started way back in January), there really isn't an opportunity for a new player to get some experience.
Thanks for listening. This seemed to be the thread for Mafia General Discussion.
I'd like to be in. I've been lurking on MTGS for 2 years now, and discovered the Mafia forum a couple of weeks ago - I've been reading old Mafias on here since then.
Never done Mafia before, but have read the FAQs and past threads and think I have it down.

I fail at random voting
Hope you have a good flash list
