I am so torn atm. As mentioned before, I've been taking the deck in a more competitive direction but I'm not sure I'm enjoying playing it nearly as much as I did when it was zombie tribal. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the increase in win percentage but I don't think the overall gameplay is as much fun for me.
Oddly enough...I'm excited to see what the zombie tokens for this set look like! I'm really, really, really hoping they look like the zombies in the trailer and on the zombie cards so far. I'm guessing it'll be zombie army tokens and they'll look like those cards.
The thing is, her other two abilities aren't that relevant in the deck. And if I wanted to give my creatures flash, I could potentially go for Yeva, Nature's Herald instead, which is a card that has the creature type (although it limits the flashed creatures to green).
Yea, the limitations to green really hurt it's potential but not a bad suggestion.
The new Vivien looks interesting as well. Might be worth considering for any build that wants to flash creatures in (that's her static ability) that plays in metas where they need to be more reactionary.
One side effect of unzombifying my zombie version and making it a more competitive version is it's opening up lots of brewing space for my daughters Varina deck.
I missed a step in my summation, I used Muldrotha to keep recasting Eternal Witness to return Cyclonic Rift to my hand each turn, using Viscera Seer as a sac outlet on the end step before my turn to put E-Wit back in my GY.
Had a really fun game tonight (unfortunately only got in the one because of having to go deal with an issue with my kids), but the game was against Aminatou blink and a Darigaaz Reincarnated dragon tribal. The Aminatou player got ahead quick due to having enough counters in hand to stifle me. Eventually I got Wonder into my graveyard (he had no flying) and kept taking out his Aminatou to keep him in check until I could finally build up. The play that led to the win was casting Clever Impersonator as a copy of his Restoration Angel so I could blink Rune-Scarred Demon and search for Cyclonic Rift to reset them while I bought a turn to cast Muldrotha, the Gravetide. With Muldrotha out I was able to recast Rift from my GY each of the following two turns so that they had to continuously rebuild while I took them out.
Storrev, Devkarin Lich is the only thing I've seen that I really wanna test so far. It may fit better in the zombie build but I'm curious to see how it plays. I usually have little trouble popping people for damage with Filth and Wonder in the deck, and when you add that he has trample.
Doesn't work. Medomai can't attack on extra turns.
Yea, the limitations to green really hurt it's potential but not a bad suggestion.
Sorry for the confusion.
