I hear enough politics (combined with evangelizing and calling people Nazis) basically everywhere else. Can we fix these issues without resorting to the same base behavior?Posted in: Articles
I think we can.

One of the big issues with Bridge is that it sort of invalidates the deck's primary plan: to control the opponent's creaturess by removing them, and quickly turn the corner and close out the game with powerful finishers that mostly work in the red zone. In addition to the creatures you named, Koth, Boros Reckoner, Glorybringer, Thunderbreak Regent, and more depend to some extent on attacking. While you can try to burn them out with PWs, PnKN, and so on, this is going to be much slower, and give the opponent a lot of time.
You need to have a plan to deal with the fact that Bridge invalidates a lot of your offense. That can mean relying more heavily on PWs, or using something like Rabblemaster to go sword-and-shield. If you don't do this, you're just a very bad Burning Bridges deck, and will lose many games because the opponent has enough time to find their outs or cobble together a plan B.
I was wondering if Fulgence has experimented with either Ramunap Excavator for value chains (including with a Canopy), or Magus of the Moon over Fulminator Mage, for a more readily castable land-disruption effect.
Also, does Fulgence stream? I would like to see this deck in action.
As for Flame Rift, it pays to have a set. It's one of my least favorite burn spells; but when you simply need big packets of efficient, direct damage; you don't do much better.
As for how Burn stacks up, well, combo is at an all-time low, fair blue and black decks are ascendant, Miracles is also rising, and DnT is moving away from Brightling because it's pretty bad versus Strix. In short, it seems like a good time to play Burn.
It mill effect is also atrocious, still not threatening a kill in under 20 turns (ie: even slower than its attack), and being mutual (ie: milling yourself).
I thought this card was so obviously horrendous that I interpreted your post as pure sarcasm, and actually laughed as I read it. I clearly misinterpreted your intention.
