Had the same discussion with WraithPK the other day.
What do you guys think I should cut to fir 2 Ceremonious Rejection in? Is there something I have a lot of redundancy in the sideboard? I was thinking the most up-for-discussion cards are Countersquall ,maybe Kolaghan's Command and/or the second Temur Battle Rage. Anger Of The Gods is great in my meta with some Dredge players and Abzan Company on the rise. I do want it in.
I'd probably cut a countsquall and a grind element, etiher kommand or Lili.
I tried the white splash for a bit. The land base really sucks. Godless shrine in game one is so bad if you draw into it or it's in your opener. Thought about having the shrine in the SB and switch to 4 colours G2/G3 but never got around to trying it out. Stony silence (lantern player in my local meta) and souls are nice to have access to . Ranger doesn't seem as good to me without the traverses that Jund DS has to search him out.
With all this talk of cutting bolts maybe having a 3rd watery grave is the right choice. Both U and B are needed for the best T1 plays. Red is really just a splash in this deck. With 12 fetches + 2 shocks that gives 14 red sources which is more than enough to get R by T2 or T3 if Frank Karstens land base analysis is anything to go by. Having 12 fetches + 3 graves + 1 shock gives 16 U or B sources.
EDIT: I forgot about basics. There are 17 sources for either black or blue. For blue this is two shy of the recommended 19 for 2 colour sources by T3 (for snap + 1 mana U play)
I was under the impression that taking out cantrips (the thought scours not the wraiths) was a terrible idea. What circumstances make it acceptable vs. Grixis Delver?
Fair enough. In my experience it's been the Etched Champion and manland+plating that does me in. Perhaps it'd be worthwhile to switch Angers back to Kozilek's Returns since there seems to be less dredge lately. That a non-graveyard dependent abzan coco decks with the vizier/druid combo is rising lessens the appeal for Anger too
I've been running flaying tendrils over anger. Easier to cast, good vs. kitchen finks, hits etched champion. Altho' it's not great vs. dredge.
Tasigur and ol' gurmmy dodge bolts and pushes. If you run stubborn denial as well then you've got some nice counters for paths as well. Quite powerful, I think. Ranger is cool but unlike the jund version there's no traverse the ulvenwald to tutor it up which is probably what makes it so good in that deck. Thought scour is also great with souls (I'd be ok with only ever playing milled souls from the gy) and giving targets for snapcasters. I've played an Esper-delver-shadow version and was quite unimpressed with Delver. Having street wraiths let you power out shadows faster and can be held as potential tricks too.
Just curious, does death and taxes ever run ensnaring bridge? I have been playtesting a Eldrazi D & T and pretty much get shut down by that card. This is the list I have been playing and I like it alot but once a bridge gets played I am basically screwed. Does death and taxes ever run hand control, thought seize.. etc?
game1: 2-0
played against a friend's jeskai Spell Queller/Geist of Saint Traft, no real actual problem, as he relies solely on Geist or grinding out the opponent, no actual late-hit-the-board-i-win-the-game win-condition.
game2: 2-0
jund, the full package, or close to it, game 1 i cast Epiphany at the Drownyard first time X=2, then snapcastered it for X=8, second time i needed only a land to cast Ugin (without tron, as i managed to land a Chalice on 1 early).
i wiped away his 3 goyfs, then ground down his life with snapcaster, to finish off with gearhulk.
funny thing is we were not paying attention, and i played epiphany as a Fact or Fiction... but it didn't matter, as i only saw 3 lands with the first one and inly needed a single land with the second.
game 2 he played t1 Nihil Spellbomb, Abrupt Decayed my map then landed an ooze, he was stuck on a few lands early game, game was close, but ultimately managed to win
game3: 0-2
eldrazi tron
he plays some kind of weird aggro package, sometimes with both Karns and Ugin, along aggro creatures.
always manages to draw into (sometimes without the help of maps) into tron (he plays correctly btw, he's just that lucky)
sometimes i saw Eldrazi Temple from him too.
of the creatures he playes almost 4-of mimic, TKS and smasher.
the most i ever did against him was a 1-2, never actually managed to beat him with blue tron EXCEPT when i bring taking turns, he basically has no chance, as once i wrecked him, when he cast a turn 5 Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
but the problem with this is, that that deck looses against most of the other decks in out local playgroup, that tron easily beats most of the time 2-1
right now i'n thinking about splashing red just for Crumble to Dust, since he has no real backup plan after that, other than to slowly build up mana normally.
I'd probably cut a countsquall and a grind element, etiher kommand or Lili.

I do. Potentially lets you pump for lethal, grow your shadow to dodge bolt or grow shadow to turn on stubbs among other things.
Sideboard disenchant or ratchet bomb or flickerwisp bridge when you have lethal on board are ways that I deal with it.

What about bribery? You don't get cast trigger but you get great big titans.
