Fun fact, contrary to what you believe, I didn't "dominate" the game in LOTR. Well, I did, but it was just a consequence of us two posting as much as everyone else combined, rather than an objective. So it would be more correct to say that the town gave up on controlling the game in LOTR, rather than to say the mafia seized control of that game.

Lol, I was behind the scenes in that one. I know that it wasn't a deliberate strategy, per se, but you're smart enough to see how and why it worked. You're trying to do the same thing here.

I'm actually getting exactly the same vibes from ZDS and AK, which is that they sense blood in the water. This last exchange has left Jobo looking very town, IMHO, and his attackers looking very not. Added, to this, I'm baffled by the amount of people willing to lynch Jobo or ZDS, because I definitely do not see them together as scum (it's possible, just extremely unlikely).

Also FTR, I would not be surprised if the Gleng attack was a bus.

Also FoS clayton, so I don't forget.

I'm really getting the idea that ZDS is just drunk on his success in dominating the game in LOTR II, and he's trying to do it again. His arguments are making progressively (regressively?) less and less sense as the game goes on, and he has to be pried off his targets in Cyan-esque fashion. Town ZDS does actually know the value of real arguments, much more than he's acknowledging here.

I'm amused by the fact that you seem to think I'm defending DYH. I'm actually leaning scum on him, I just don't particularly want to lynch him today. He has a tendency of solving himself.

Just that his cases continue to be irrelevant to what's actually going on in the thread. He barely makes comment on "the plan," and certainly doesn't contribute meaningfully to the discussion in any way.

Ultimately, he's not worth worrying about. DYH has always been a kill/investigation magnet, we'll know more in a day or two.

The virtue of this whole plan is that it gives us an absolutely silly amount of information, not only about the claimed roles, but about the roles that are switched. I understood that the whole role was switched, not just the abilities, but I suppose that Anak should be clearer on that.

FTR, I'm totally fine w/ Asian being the one thrown at me.

Lolz at DYH for continuing to be completely irrelevant.

@ZDS - do you realize how much information is being exchanged if Anak's ability actually is what it is? Multiple people will know virtually everything there is to know about the truth of other people's claims, multiple townies will be confirmed (because I am confident there would not be an ability which actually switches multiple players alignments, this is a normal and that would be bastard-moddery of the highest degree) or multiple scum will be tied together. I don't completely know if this is a town ability or a scum ability, but there is sooooo much upside to the ability that I have a very difficult time understanding why a scum would have it. Hell, if he is a scum, I'm still completely willing to let him "prove" his ability, we'll end up with an almost completely confirmed town halfway through the game.

Honestly think about the worst scenarios that can happen

1)Scum have a kill-through-doc kill, which mean I (who am now someone else random) and the person thrown at me (who is also someone else random) are dead, and both buranri and anak's abilities are confirmed. Huzzah.

2)Someone gets blocked/plan fizzles. We sort through the info, decide if someone's lying, and lynch appropriately. We're certainly no worse off than now.

3)Either buranri or anak gets shot - at least they weren't a mislynch.

Seriously, these are some of the worst scenarios I can think of. Perhaps there's a combo of unblockable kill and rb, but I'm happy tying that up for the night. Let the real investigative roles work their mojo.

ZDS is smart enough to recognize the merits of this plan. His refusal to do so is the most obvscum play I have seen in a long time. He knows the damage this will do if it even partially goes off.

Letting your fear of "plans" guide your desire to lynch confirmable and strongly pro-town roles is honestly just stupid. Please actually think about the plan, dismissing is just bad mafia. This actually really has the potential to break this game.

I'm proposing what's already been proposed

Anak targets me to switch roles w/ a random.

Buranri throws someone onto me to prove that his role works as claimed.

I get doc protected by whoever feels inclined to do so.

Way less complex than people are making it sound.

What does partially proving your ability have to do with your alignment? Get your craplogic away from me.
What does proving an ability which scum couldn't possibly have to do with proving his alignment? Who's spouting the craplogic now. Seriously, I'm extremely bothered by the amount of very vocal players ATM who seem to know nothing about the situation. We have two confirmable abilities claimed tonight, and a scenario which not only confirms them, but nets us gain beside. Do you realize the amount of potential townies we could have cleared if this does go off right?

***** about Rube Goldberg, whatever, the plan only considers what we know and lets us decide the veracity of all the claims involved. The only factor we don't have claimed is a doc, who I'm reasonably sure is out there somewhere (or someone with a protective ability, they're pretty much standard fare in big games).

If scum do know anything more than we do, it's that they know who's lying. If none of the claimants are lying, scum know no more than we do. Regardless, someone doesn't come through with their role, we know who to look at tomorrow. Scum can manipulate that, yeah, whatever, but at worst we end up with a mislynch people are already pushing for today. No one yet has offered a semi-reasonable reason why we shouldn't try it other than "It won't work," which is an infantile refusal to think.

Vote: ZDS because your refusal to turn your brain on has actually gone significantly further than I am willing to believe you would as town.

Clayton's plan is obviously trash, and anyone seriously considering vigging the claimed confirmable power roles is just an imbecile.

There are a baffling number of bad wagons running around ATM.

We should not be lynching Buranri today. He has a confirmable ability and we have a situation which not only confirms the ability, but puts it to good use. I can think of no real reason not to try it.

I'm sure we could attract a doc protect into the deal as well. I know doc-directing is usually bad, but this seems like an endeavor well worth protecting.

My role, as I understand it, is used to confirm townies. All I have to do is target someone who is obvtown, and whoever switched with them is also town. Kind of like a pseudo-investigative role.

/barn ZDS I think I know how to prove both of our roles at once. Buranri, catapult someone onto Jerubbal. That way, a person you picked, Jerubbal, and another random person all switch roles, and going into D2 all they have to do is respond, and we have five confirmed townies. Does anyone else object to this plan, especially you Buranri?

    Unvote

This I am actually okay with, although the potential outcome does boggle the mind somewhat.

@DYH - I realize this functions as a double kill if it is a scum ability, but I'm sufficiently convinced it could not be a scum ability. As is, I'm leaning toward it being a simple falseclaim, but Anak's scenario certainly gives us the potential to confirm with significant upside beside, so I think we should give it a whirl.

It is subjective insofar as there is no objective standard (except perhaps winning) of whether a card is good or bad or whether a build is good or bad. Considering how many potential "contexts" a card could be placed in over the course of a tournament, evaluating its functionality in a given decklist, in a given format, could well be considered subjective.

I do like it, but I admit I've only played it in a sealed context. I can easily see really good dudes or removal being picked over it in most decks, but I really like it in a control context. If you can hope to establish a fairly stable board, it does net a lot of advantage for a very reasonable cost over time.
