Nice...still not a fan of random daughter though. And does imply that Resparked Teferi can cancel the normal aging process.
And again I am really wondering wtf Jodah is doing. Belzenlok wasn't relevant in the past unless they retcon him in so he shouldn't be all that powerful. Thus,I am still confused why the supposed Archmage Eternal who was always dragging Oldwalkers for incompetence and ignoring the little guys decided to do absolutely nothing with all the relevant Oldwalkers off the stage (death, off plane or desparked) while Belzenlok is out collecting dangerous artifacts and conquering the plane. It was Jodah's time to shine and he is going to need one heck of an excuse not to look like the plane's greatest hypocrite.
I really hope Jodah's been doing something to counter the Cabal. I feel he's grown used to doing things alone, as before Jhoira, the only beings as old as him were Walkers who he has issues with.
Jodah did that for a long while, after a few centuries he could have "retired" from dealing with "stupid apocalypses" as Dominaria rarely seemed to stay saved.
The most hilarious card I can think of to pair with BBE is Nulltread Gargantuan. You get a free 5/6 and can then play the BBE again next turn for more value!
Ok, yeah, totally forgot about the reserved list there, but glad to see people are interested. Channel and Doubling Season would be good replacements for the green cards, while Starfield of Nyx subs in for Opalescence. IDK for Palinchron, though. The panoramic art Animate Dead to go with the Worldgorger Dragon, I suppose. But then there'd be four black cards. Maybe swap out one of the others for Panharmonicon?
So, this should be self-explanatory. I just thought it would make a good theme for an FTV, and as it turns out there are plenty of casual and competitive combo pieces that could very much use reprints. Here's a list I came up with that has good color balance:
As WotC usually does with these, I didn't go too overboard with the value, making sure to include a few playable financial duds like Arcane Adaptation, Enduring Renewal, and Possibility Storm. The rest is all gravy, though. Thoughts?
Technically, I think the fact that there's a foil in every pack means that production costs for masters sets are in fact slightly higher than normal sets. But there's no way a single shiny card costs $5 to make unless they use actual silver.
Others have already articulated most of my thoughts on the latest story. However, I did realize something interesting about how the story might progress.
Jace remembers his whole life (save the events on Amonkhet) now, including his time spent with Alhammarret. The important thing to note about this is that aside from being major jerk, Alhammarret was a sphinx. You know who was recently confirmed to be both a sphinx and a major part of the plot? Azor. The same guy who roped Jace into the whole Living Guildpact thing with his maze. Now I'm wondering exactly how Jace will react when they meet, given this information.
If Angrath was a three drop and had two starting loyalty he would see play. The problem with this version is that his +1 is only really good in the early game, but by the time you actually get to five mana the odds your opponent will actually have anything useful left in their hand is pretty slim. I'd rather just have a Phantom Warrior at that point, because at least you can accelerate the clock with equipment that way.
I had started working on a five color contraption list even before the legality announcement dropped. The main list isn't quite done, and I'll post in in the multiplayer decklist subforum once it is, but I'm using all 23 cards in the set that assemble or otherwise interact with your own contraptions. As for the contraptions themselves, I'm only using these 20, because many of them are only good in limited, and the assembly cards would be really underwhelming otherwise.

The dino is great, though.
