Thank you for your thorough responses.
a)Would the outcome be any different if it was Infest instead of Pyroclasm?
b)Would the outcome be any different if Pyroclasm had an extra line of text that said: "Add red mana to your mana pool"?

It sure does. The static ability of Threshold counts the graveyard at all times, including immediately after Pyroclasm hits the graveyard. Since it hits the graveyard as the last step in its resolution, Mongoose becomes a 3/3 before SBEs are checked. When they are finally checked, it's a 3/3 with 2 damage and survives.

    A few questions:
You say Pyroclasm hits the graveyard as part of the last step of it's resolution, so what are the steps then? Does a spell leave the stack and go to the graveyard before it resolves, after or at the same? When are state-base effects checked? Walk me through this here. Confused

I have a Nimble Mongoose in play and 6 cards in my graveyard. If I play a Pyroclasm does my Mongoose survive? (Why/Why not?)

There aren't a lot of other developed nations whose economic models we should be following, to be honest. The US has done by far the best job of staying competitive in the developed world, instead of simply sitting on it's laurels.

Why do you believe that the US is more competitive?

In Canada we have Remembrance Day on November 11th. It is apparently called Veteran's Day in the US but US also has Memorial Day. So my question to Americans is :
What is the difference in terms of observance and significance between Memorial Day and Veterans Day?

Yet somehow we apply many of our other standards onto others? I fail to see how this situation would be any different than criticizing your friend's girlfriend (provided that he thinks shes hot) - and don't tell me you've never done that :p

Sure you can criticize. You may find dark skin a turn-off when it comes to women, that's completely your thing. (I'm telling you though man to man, you're missing out ;):p) I tend to find women with lots of freckles a turn off and that's my thing. I think he meant "criticize" in the sense of being actively critical of your hypothetical daughter's choice if she chose the black man.

Ok, I'm sorry. I'm a very dumb person and I can't talk good. What I should have said was: Please explain to me in what way is my view of racism extremely narrow. I can't put it any more solid than that.

Ok, thank you for clearing that up. Much appreciated. I'll edit in my answer, I just want to get this posted.

    --Space for EDIT--

Ok, I'm super sorry I brought up the rap music thing, because, again I'm too dumb to make a valid point. I don't blame rap music for anything. I don't think we should ban rap music. However, when a child is raised by a single mom and the only male role models are his peers and MTV where 50 cent makes being a criminal look like a way to make it rich (CradleofFish said 50 cent used to be a criminal and now he's rich, that means I can do it, too!), it has to have some sort of influence. I blame the parents over anything else. I must state that clearly. It is the freedom of any person in this country to sing about whatever they want! I don't think we should start a lynch mob to take down the rappers because they rap about bad things. But if don't think it has an influence on young people, i don't know what to tell you.

Ok, now I clearly understand you POV, but you'll have to let me off the hook here because I'm tired of debating rap music, as you can see I've discussed the matter thoroughly with PandasRpeople2

Good. As the more informed of the 2 of us, I win. Grin (that was a joke, please don't go crazy on me!)

    :p LOL

I'm going to regret saying this because many of you will make assumptions about me but, about a month and a half ago on Glenn Beck's radio program he played the entire hour of the G-D America sermon. On his web site they usually have transcripts of his shows, but I'm too lazy to find one going that far back, sorry.

Ok, now I know where to look for it. I'll tell you if I have any luck and post a link.

I'll tell you instead how absolutely appalling I find it that 5 days after 3,000 non-combatant, mothers, fathers, fireman, police officers, receptionists, lawyers, accountants, businessmen, etc. were killed in an horrific manor he said that "America's chickens had come home to roost." Is that enough for you? Cause I think I can prove even more so that he's a jerk.

The way in which he said it was mean an inconsiderate and he was clearly being an insensitive bastard and his dramatisations for show are despicable. However I believe his point in itself is valid. The US has done some pretty nasty things to other countries that they should be damned for(hence the G-D America) and that the attack was in some sense America's problems with nations abroad coming home to haunt them. (the chickens thing).

The fact that he uses those conspiracy theories and tells his audience that they can't succeed because the big bad racist world is stopping them all while he drives around in 2 mercedes benz's, lives in a multi-million dollar home with a 10 million dollar line of credit isn't proof that he's scummy? Oy ve!

Which conspiracy theories are you referring to?
He has said some pretty outlandish things like the whole "The government made AIDS" thing and he is definitely a crackpot. I've yet to hear any such accusations about exploiting money and frankly I don't care because I have no real interest in this weirdo's doings, I just wanted to debate a specific statement in one of his sermons.

The problem as stated above, that blacks can't make it in the US because we are a horribly racist country.
I'll respond to that in the edit at the top of my post.

I'd have to say, yes, you can have anything up to nuclear/biochemical weapons, subject to some regulations, which would start at machine guns.

What regulation would that be? Is there any constructive purpose to having a rocket launcher? The general argument for owning a gun is defense of one's self and one's family but how is a rocket launcher a defensive weapon? If you seriously need a machine gun to defend yourself, you probably should contact the feds for a new identity.

    EDIT;

    Quote from Apokalypse Kid
If we ever needed to fight a government quality military as a civilian populace, they would help immensely. Like, if we were Iraqis opposing the US-led coalition, would you rather that we stockpiled rocket launchers or stones to fight the foreign power.

Would the government not distribute these arms to citizens if it was needed in a time of emergency? It seems paranoid to have such a weapon preemptively.
