I've been playing gobos for a while now and I think Cavern of Souls is a 'trap card'. It may look nice since we are running a tribe deck but not being able to cast Bolt or Grenade is really bad. I'd recommend running 0-1 of it, of course this number can increase if your meta is control heavy.
Also, Mogg War Marshall is a great card, u should reconsider not using it, when you say nobody uses them you mean on the last few pages? Because most decks posted here lately were Kuldotha. This build doesn't run MWM but it's a different kind of deck, working kinda like a combo/all in
I've been playing a budget list of Goblingravy's deck too, but I prefer Monastery Swiftspear to replace Goblin Guide. I tried a few other goblins like Goblin Cohort and Frenzied Goblin but I think Haste is really what makes Guide good, so instead of running the only other 1 drop goblin with haste (Raging Goblin) I chose Monastery, which has been working nicely so far, being a 1/2 really helps with opponents chump blocks and the only change I did to the deck to fit her was adding Dragon Fodder instead of MWM.
This is the list I'm running, sideboard is still under construction (took some ideas from Zinamoggs post a few pages back), any feedback is welcome.
Hi guys, I'm testing a new mid/range build with Subterranean Scout + Warren Instigator. Got PD, Chieftain, Krenko, etc. If unchecked, at T3 you can have an awesome swarm.
Still weak against Pyroclasm and aoe removals but kinda strong.
Very interesting build Zinamogg, please keep us updated about it. I'm yet to see a midrange goblins that actually works on Modern.
The thing about midrange goblins is that they are not bolt proof and most die to pyroclasm, there is close to no evasion either. I tried a few mid range builds with green or black or white, but it seems that having a midrange deck with goblins goes against the very nature if goblins, who seem to be only fast, and very single mindedly, the go to the face or to the have and in case of [Goblin Grenade] both.
I'll post the list that I would run currently but I was thinking about taking out a few cards to fit 1-3 piledrivers. http://www.mtgvault.com/coeurly/decks/atarkas-bushwackers/
Sorry about the external link.
Let me kniw what you think.
I love the addition of ingot chewer and the added trigger for denizen. May include that.
Your list really seems to be all over, are u able to cast both Kuldotha and Surge effectively most games?
If you plan to include Piledrivers I suggest you add some Mutagenic growth too, it'll protect him against bolt and it also has great synergy with Monastery swiftspear and reckless bushwacker, which you are already using. I'm testing a build with them and it's been working really nicely so far
Personally I like the idea of combat tricks using Mutagenic growth, I've been running it on a build along with Monastery swiftspear and so far it really pays off, also it wouldn't be dead against other decks too, something we have to consider.
As for Dismember, we probably want it on sideboard, since it wouldn't be viable against some decks
I think we also have to consider what the meta will look like with eldrazis. I mean, other people are certainly going to come up with answers for them.
Talking to some friends I heard that hard controls decks such as lantern or even boros control may be able to lock eldrazis down, so we may have to deal with them as well.
I agree with Franx regarding Gitaxian Probe, getting information and drawing a card is nice, but in a goblin deck that's not as important as other decks. Mutagenic Growth has a better synergy with goblins, specially on lists running Monastery Swiftspear, as I mentioned on my last post you can save two guys from a board wipe with it, as long as you have MSS on the field. I'd rather save my guys from a Pyroclasm than just know my opponent has it.
I basically replaced Signal Pest and some token generators with Mogg Fanatic and Mutagenic Growth, I also removed SSG for more consistency over speed. My idea is to have more interaction with the opponent and also protect MSS and other guys against board wipes such as Pyroclasm, I think I'm somewhere in between T3 and No-lords lists.
Here's the result of the 50 goldfish games:
T3 wins: 12 (24%)
T4 wins: 33 (66%)
T5 wins: 5 (10%)
Mulligans: 18 - I'm thinking it has something to do with the website I used to goldfish (don't think I'm allowed to mention the name), had some pretty crazy hands with like 5 or 6 lands.
As Rogomatic mentioned, not having Goblin Guide can be tricky, it's really hard to decide if you should keep a hand without MSS and FSD, even tho I got some T3 wins without them (mostly due to Bushwackers and Grenade)
I think SSGs are really great in T3 lists, for the burst they provide, however No-lords lists need more consistency, which a traditional mana base provides.
I didn't have Mutagenic Growth in any of my list -- you must be thinking about some of jwelt's lists perhaps? The idea is that they have synergy with both Swiftspear and FSD. The gameplan was to drop FSD/SS T1, follow up with some combination of token commands and Burning-Tree Emissary, then finish off with bushwhackers/grenades/bolts. I also had Signal Pest as an alternative pump, but I'm not entirely satisfied with the results. I will try swapping them out for Gitaxian Probe to smooth out the deck a little bit and help with bushwhacker surge.
This gameplan looked a lot better when the meta wasn't full of board wipes. It may be different this time around, in which case we're back to the drawing board.
You're right, I probably saw it on some other list...
Anyway, I'm looking forward for updates, I'll probably be testing some variations too and let u guys know if I get good results.
Your point about the meta is also very important, we may have to tweek most of our lists thinking about board wipes.
I've been reading this tread for a while now, finally decided to join the conversation.
Now that u guys mentioned fanatics, dont u think that this new brews will miss them? I feel we're having too little interaction. Please note that im saying that just by looking at the decks, havent got a chance to play this builds.
@rogomatic, im rly interested on your build, specially the budget part since I also dont own guides lol. How do u feel about mutagenic? I remember it was on the deck u posted a few pages back. I think it has very good sinergy with mss and reckless

Anyway, last night I did 50 goldfish games with a build based on Rogomatics idea of MSS and tokens, here's the list:
4x Burning-Tree Emissary
4x Foundry Street Denizen
4x Goblin Bushwhacker
4x Legion Loyalist
3x Mogg Fanatic
4x Monastery Swiftspear
3x Reckless Bushwhacker
1x Devastating Summons
4x Dragon Fodder
4x Goblin Grenade
4x Lightning Bolt
3x Mutagenic Growth
18x Mountain

Regarding the Goblin Grenade discussion, I feel Mutagenic Growth can help with the sinergy, as you can cast Reckless Bushwacker after Mutagenic and keep a Mountain open for Grenade after combat.
I'm liking this list so far, will work on SB and test it against real players online, any feedback is greatly appreciated.
