Not my favorite mix, but still interesting. Though, this is a good sample of the \variation in the music I enjoy. Oddities: 3,675 songs in my library, of which 78 are U2 songs. Funny that their songs showed up four times…
Yay! My preference was to find a job in a smaller city or even a rural setting. So that is good to know that it's cheaper to live in less urban settings (I'm not really a big city person anyway). Good to hear that public transportation is readily available!
Hi everyone! This request goes out to those in the UK (specifically those who are a product of primary/secondary schools in the UK, or are currently teaching there or have in the past.
My background information: I’ll be graduating with a MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching) degree in June. I want to take my new degree out for a spin; possibly to the UK. Currently, I’m signed up with a company that helps U.S. teachers find jobs overseas. The company takes care of work permits, setting up interviews, etc, so I am not too concerned with that.
My main questions: What are schools like in the UK? Is there a difference between rural and urban school settings? Is there a difference in cost of living in rural and urban settings (I'm specifically concerned with transportation)? If you know about the United States' education system, how does it compare with the UK’s?
Really, any information or advice would be appreciated. I have never traveled overseas, so I expect some culture shock. I want to be as prepared as possible.
I don't think that The Incredibles have been mentioned. It is my favorite Pixar movies. I also think Children of Men is worth mentioning as well. I recently saw it and had to buy it!
Edit: Ah, The Incredibles were mentioned in the Oscar winner's post. So I second it!
I really like your third fractal fractal from the right. The contrasting colors look great. Did you use the editing tool to create it or use the random variation tool? I tend to like the fractals that are brightly colored, Julia variation, and nebula-like designs.
I'm not an that knowledgeable when it comes to art, but I tried out Apopthysis and made a few attempts. I'm still learning how to using the editing tool though.
The Norwegian drinks water. The Japanese owns a zebra. So to clarify, here are the house colors, from left to right, and their contents (nationality, cigarette brand, drink, and pet): YELLOW: Norwegian, Kools, water, fox; BLUE: Ukrainian, Chesterfields, tea, horse; RED: Englishman, Old Gold, milk, snails; IVORY: Spaniard, Lucky Strike, orange juice, dog; and finally GREEN: Japanese, Parliament, coffee, zebra. And that should work.
Here are a few more "stick it to the man" songs to add to the Classic Rock category. They're fairly tame:
"Get Over it"- The Eagles
"Fortunate Son"- Credence Clearwater Revival
"Hammer to Fall"- Queen
"We're Not Gonna Take it"- Twisted Sister (Though I'd categorize this as 80's Hair Band)
"Another Brick in the Wall" (any part will do)- Pink Floyd
Really, anything by Pink Floyd is usually written in a tongue-in-cheek style
For the record, in no way am I an expert on instruments, but I have been playing woodwinds for quite a few years, and I recognize some brand names of instruments.
I looked on amazon.com and a new Buffet E11 intermediate clarinet is listed for $1,023. But in my experience used instruments do not always sell for less than new instruments. Like you mentioned, pictures would be good, but also listening to how the instrument sounds is just as, if not more (in my humble opinion), important. Buffet is a well known and respected brand in the world of clarinets. My guess would be that the instrument would be worth around $1,000 if it has been taken care of through the years.
If you want to brighten the clarinet up polishing the keys would be good. Also, oiling the wood isn't a bad idea if it hasn't been done for a while.
My suggestion is to take it to a couple of reputable music shops that sell woodwinds (definitely go to more than one). They should be able to give you a fair price/value.
