The problem is that cascade only triggers when you play the spell. maybe "when you play ~, each player discards a card at random. If the card you discarded this way has the highest converted mana cost among cards discarded this way, cascade." It would change the rules a little bit for cascade, but i guess you can do that for custom cards.
It's a weird card. I can't put my finger on why I don't like it, but I just don't. Sorry.
Interesting. I like how both of them have mechanisms to survive even if your life total isn't the correct value.
However, Evenoid seems a lot more flexible for surviving turns of interesting life totals. For one, you can play Evenoid at 19 life and know you can make it survive through the next upkeep by means printed on the card, but Oddity won't often survive if it's played while you're at 20 life, since it can't attack. Evenoid is also playable at its full potential whenever you want, since you can pay 2 or 3 life to regen... with Oddity, attacking at the wrong time could easily turn it off. I guess I would suggest a cost of 3 life per regen on Evenoid, so you pay a much higher cost for keeping an even life total.
Power-level-wise, though, these seem to be about right. Cards like these definitely add a lot to the complexity of the game state, and I like that.
I threaten to bury you under 2000 copies of Remand if you don't spit out the cheese and give it to me. You give it to me. So I bury you with Emerald Oryxs instead. Now I have the cheese.
There's a guy who runs tournaments at our local store, who's been playing since Beta, and will lend cards to anyone. He has a set of Hurricanes (I wouldn't be surprised if they're all Beta and Unlimited) to which he's taped pictures of the Chippy peanut butter chipmunk. Anyone who plays them is instructed to hold them up in the air and loudly announce, "Here comes a... SQUIRRICANE!"
And for some reason, my playgroup refers to Slippery Bogle as "Slippery Boogle." There was a disagreement over pronunciation, so they settled on something even more incorrect than "Boggle." (Yes, my friends play Slippery Bogles:facepalm:)
In order to pull that off, a Primal Sage would be useful... and I forgot about the bouncelands in my post... that's a really good point.
Kabbek seems like something that would further help Elfball decks. An interesting tweak might be to have it reduce the cost by each time, but I think that might be worse as far as combo decks are concerned...
Here's something interesting void_nothing just came up with in another topic that really intrigued me...
Earth-Wrenching Cataclysm4RRR
Sorcery
Destroy all non-island lands.
The ultimate mono-blue control gamebreaker... it seems much too powerful to me, and not incredibly fun. Once you get to six lands, the game would effectively be over unless your opponent had some incredible board presence. It needs some kind of drawback. First step would probably be making it a sorcery - I'd hate to see this played at end of turn, followed by Evacuation. Then only return the lands to their owners' hands. Then probably up the cost a little bit. I just see this working as a one-sided Upheaval most of the time. It needs some kind of serious drawback.
EDIT: That's a really, really cool idea, void_nothing.
That's not quite the functionality I think he wanted, shadowmancer, or at least the functionality that was written. I think the cost should be upped (look at Ashnod's Altar.) It adds a lot of mana, and the "Players may sacrifice creatures at any time" is abusable. Maybe BBB.
Let's see if we can rearrange the last one. I think it should look something like:
Catch1U
Instant
Choose target Equipment (you control?) with converted mana cost 3 or less that became unattached from a creature (you control?) this turn. Attach that Equipment to target creature you control.
/// Throw3R
Instant
As an additional cost to play ~, unattach an Equipment from a creature you control.
~ deals damage to target creature equal to the Equip cost of the unattached Equipment.
I love the flavour, but both halves come out a little bit wordy, probably too much so for a split card. Great idea, though. Maybe you could print them as a pair, like Red and Blue Elemental Blasts.
A couple possible tweaks... Do you want the targeted creature's controller to gain control of the thrown equipment, a la Shuriken? Also, maybe set the damage equal to the equipment's converted mana cost, as opposed to its equip cost?
By the way, [ MANA ]1wubrg[ /MANA ] without the spaces gets you 1WUBRG. Mana symbols always make cards look better
Part of me likes what Caustic Ooze does, especially keeping in mind what you riffed from, but the land-destroying ability seems a little bit out of place when you look at it. Part of me thinks the ability would read better if the land was destroyed, but that's not what Caustic Rain does...
Dreamscape Eidolon is solid.
I like Vigean Curse. It works.
Mausoleum Jailbreak is interesting... it looks like it could be fun in multiplayer, while pretty easily abusable. Maybe up the cost to :2mana::symb:.
Brutish Negotiations - Meh.
Group Safety - Weird. What card was it riffed off of? I know that the first part of the ability seems too weak, but it seems too powerful for me with the second ability, especially in casual play. Also, with a name like Group Safety, I would expect an effect like "as long as all of those creatures are in play together, they are indestructible" or "as long as each of those creatures have a +1/+1 counter on them, they are indestructible." Either way, it's weird.
Sip of Bliss

Whenever an opponent discards a card, creatures you control gain Absorb 1 until end of turn.

Switch the names of Enraged Dragon and Murderous Dragon!
As I said above, Enraged Dragon's ability doesn't seem flavourful to me, since it doesn't seem to be in the right colors.
I like the flavor of Berserk Dragon.
I really like the flavor of Murderous Dragon. A name swap is imperative, though.
