Has anyone had the chance to test Spreading Algae in a devotion build? I think it could work well, being cheap, recurrable, and able to loop easily via Curio. If anyone has thoughts I'd love to hear them.
Could be funny with some Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoths but that might drift off into the territory of jank tech
I think it was his point as Bx/midrange Eldrazi decks are becoming more and more popular
Yeah the whole Urborg line of thought was just a stupid "what if" Scenario (that will be played in the next Kitchen Table session ). But on a more serious note against those Decks it certainly has potential. I'd say it depends on your local Meta and if you can devote some slots in your Sideboard to it.

I can only speak for my local playgroup which consists mostly of t2/t3 Decks but Primal Command has won a fair share of Games. Getting free turns to beat face or removing annoying Artifacts/Enchantments (looking at you Ensnaring Bridge) maindeck is just so good. Since I consider Eternal Witness a Value 4-of anyways the additional 2 Slots (I kinda want to free up a third one for a 3 Command/3 Wave split) are not that much of a commitment
Results of the first moderately large Modern Tournament postbans. Top 8 is pretty much Aggro with just one Eldrazi Deck in the Top 16 and suprisingly no R/G Tron in sight. So seems like it's a good idea to bring a strong plan against Aggro if you are attending any larger Tournaments right now.
Once you have "run out" of Witness's in your library, you can cast Primal Command to (a) re-shuffle your graveyard back into your library and THEN (b) tutor for another Witness...this won't put a land on top of the opponent's library; but it will fill your library back up with Witnesses. From there you use the Witness to recur the Primal Command (now the only card in your graveyard) and repeat.
Well that only works if you somehow manage to get your Witnesses into the GY aka won't work on your turn without killing your own witnesses
I know there is a description in the Primer, but I'm not sure I really understand the primal command and eternal witness combo. I get that you use the command to put their lands on top of their deck, but how do you make it infinite? I also understand that you can use eternal witness to get the command back, but I'm not sure how you do this numerous times without running out of mana. Can someone please explain this to me? I feel like I'm missing something very basic.
The basic idea behind the "Combo" is that you can cast Primal Command to get a Land on top of their Library (pseudo Time Walking your Opponent) and tutor up a Eternal Witness which returns your Primal Command. The infinite version of it requires Cloudstone Curio. You play Witness to get back Command and use the Curio trigger to get a second, already played Witness back to your Hand, giving you infinite Witness triggers and Commands as long as you have 5/8/13/16/21/24/... Mana. The part you are missing is a very simple one. You can do this spread over consecutive Turns. Since your Opponent can't draw and replenish his Hand you get free Turns to develop your boardstate and/or to attack. In the Curio-less Version you can repeat this process until you run out of Witnesses and usually tutor up a wincon with the last Command use.
JaishivaJai you might want to look into Hammer of Purphoros or Urabrask the Hidden. Both require double Red (and Urabask is on the more Expensive side with 5 Mana) but they are both onesided Haste effects and Hammer might be better than Fervor for your build since Hammer transforms your excess Land and Land Topdecks into 3/3 hasters
Imo the two biggest Drawbacks Green Devotion has are the dependency on Carddraw and being extremely vulnerable to Countermagic and Disruption. If your Genesis Wave/Shamanic Revelation/Threat gets countered or Thoughtseized you are pretty much left with a ton of Mana that you cannot use effectively and if your early ramp gets disrupted by Path to Exile/Lightning Bolt etc on your ramp dudes you can't played your important spells fast enough. And I think Curdbros Curio Walker List might be the one that attempts to fix both of those issues by having plenty of redundancy and a built-in carddraw Engine best. It's the most competitive playable list we have and the other decks feel like they need just a tad more effort put into them. The Gruul Aggro List for example feels like it's heading in the right direction but needs a push into a more competitively viable build like khaosknight said
As for Shamanic Revelation: Could actually be a nice little 1 or 2 off but I feel that it might end up lackluster against removal heavy decks
