For punk, go for Sublime dude...they're punk/ska/reggae because as Bradley Nowell explains "Reggae is just a half-time ska" and "ska is just punk with that upbeat" and if you listen to alot of their songs (Hope, Paddle Out, Saw Red, Seed... I could go on) you hear some really heavy punk influence ....no opinions really on the hardcore side though
