Has anyone tried uncage the menagerie?
I've put in a few games and it's pretty good. For GG you can tutor walking ballista, hangarback walker, endless one and dryad arbor into your hand.
On the high end with primeval titan and any other six drops you can reload your hand fast.

In the devotion decks I would think the two mana creatures would be the best to hunt for.

inaction injunction for the early game? Replaces itself and slows opponent down. I think this could be very good for turns.

Garfieldklon, thanks for all that, I guess it would have helped if I explained a bit more. The "deck" I just posted is what creatures I think would be considered to slot in, not an actual decklist. I wanted some help in pulling the least effective and replacing it with more helpful cards. The decklist I posted a few pages back is what the deck is currently, (the god suggested from here is in the mail).

I can't run a full set of garruk because I can't protect it like devotion decks can.

I don't expect to resolve T&N and am building for the grind game. I don't think the "normal" lists have enough bombs/answers and spends to much time worrying about hitting the combo making it less effective.

There will be quite a few games where I will never resolve T&N or command (counter+extraction), my best hope is to drop bomb after bomb until they run out of counters/removal and I will eventually beat on them. With all the big fatties, I will almost always win the topdeck war.
Horizon canopy is a big help here!

Its what is the most well rounded and effective that I'm going for. What gets pulled and what do I replace it with? I've been reading the thread and haven't determined if pact is good here, since I'm not counting on resolving t&n should I go with more commands or pact or neither? Maybe even chord.
Should I be running summoning traps and if so how many?

Ensnaring bridge is a concern, t&n into emmy doesn't help with that.Chewer is good here, nature's claim is the standard, stick with it? Add chewer too? 1/1 split? Or is chewer better since it can be tutored?
    Woodfall primus maybe?

If I splash a bit more white and change my mana base a bit I can run thalia guardian, stony, paths and resto.
I could even run vizier, druid combo or even Thune/spike feeder combo like abzan does.

I've even been wondering about trying to ramp even faster using chancellor of the tangle and/or simian spirit guide

I REALLY appreciate the time your taking to help me with this. Thanks.

I have been working on this "toolbox" T&N deck. I'm still exploring creatures with ETB effects. One card I've thought about with Kiki is restoration angel, and since the canopies produce white mana they can also be hard cast.
Anyways here's a list of where I'm at now,

Vorinclex is a toss up,could be another command maybe..?

Combustible gearhulk might look weird but with all the big manna creatures you draw three or potentially deal fatal damage on the spot, usually if used with Kiki it's GG.

Myr battlesphere, seemed better at first, now I think it should be another witness.Maybe MB pelakka wurm.

Broodmaster is for a go wide strategy.I haven't drawn it yet to cast it and haven't t&n for it yet either so I can't say yay or nay yet. It doesn't look like it fits, was thinking it could be another ballista or maybe even MB a hangarback walker

Should I be using summoning pact? Or even summoning trap in my 75?

Sorry for the long post and thanks immensely for helping me out getting this deck done, its greatly appreciated.

I think I do want to start playing pro. I've added a few more decks to my arsenal since this post began. Maybe that's where I'm getting so frustrated, the lack of ability to pick a deck and stick with it.

I bailed on the GP in vancouver because I couldn't decide what deck to bring. Taking turns, tron and grixis delver is what I was leaning towards. But when the GP was a week away I realized I have no time in with any of them and I felt rusty, never been to a large event before so lost my nerve/self confidence even though I'm a really good player. I regret not going to the GP.

In the original timewarp deck that Farf used to stream years ago, it ran emmy with extraplanar lens (snow-covered islands) and would win by hardcasting emmy after chaining turns until turn 9.

I myself got used to that big mana and have kept lens in my deck, simply because it allows T4 warp and T5 PtW which significantly speeds up the clock. Clock isn't a big deal usually unless we are in game three, sometimes we can't chain turns fast enough. Makes more of a diffrence online though than paper.

Emmy's effect other than straight up winning the game usually was it's shuffle effect, which yes, went into your GY from discarding down to hand size. I'd also like to note that with lens emmy is turn nine and without lens but running PtW as a wincon,it too is turn 9. As I see it, its still a REALLY good wincon and if I had it I'd probably run it since I run lens.

I myself chose to run elixir's for the shuffle effect and it's also relevant vs burn and aggro decks to buy a turn or two since it can be played early. Not to mention it keeps you/opponent from milling you out.

All in all, I say old habits die hard.lol
No matter what version of turns it is, it's a blast taking ALL the turns.

Update to the mono green list.
I removed two beast within and the elixir for three tooth and nail so I can double wurm coil.

The deck has lost only a few games and that's mainly to misplays and me trying diffrent cards.

Explore is a filler until I find a replacement. Any suggestions?

I haven't pulled out norin for quite awhile but I just recently played a game against someone and I liked the deck they were using, they flooded the board with tokens.
They ultimately lost but it was a good long fight.

I don't know the deck but this is what I saw.

vorinclex, voice of hunger has anyone tried this is tooth and nail? Almost seems win more but I like the tap ability on opponents lands.
Ive also been looking at woodfall primus as another alternative.
I want to swap out one sundering titan and one gearhulk for something else so I'm running all singles for bombs.
I was even thinking of putting madcap+emperion in but almost feels to cute.
Any other bombs that are good in tooth and nail?

8 rack without lily is pretty cheap and is mono black which always had "dark art". It's a good deck too even without lily.

I just want to test the UG deck some more. I've gone a drastically diffrent route trying to improve the consistency.

The list in the primer is where I began, since then I've changed a lot. I stripped it bare and began with UG, the white splash is only for narset atm.
One change I liked was maindecking 2 beast within, they were also a win con for me several times, I could kill a dork or land for a 3/3 rather than wait for a walker or PtW which happened quite frequently.
I've also been using 2 faerie conclave instead of one and birds over hierarch for dealing with flying opposition, usually buying me a turn or two.

Fizzling is what you could count on, more turn spells was a must. I'm at 12 now and have 2 eternal witness. (4 TW/4 TM/3 PtW/1WtA)

I run only four walkers, 1 Garruk, 2 Jace, 1 Narset. Too many and they come in only to buy a turn, they die pretty much right away (but you had nothing else to play). If you hold them until you can protect them then your running into the issue of casting a walker or keep your chain going, usually don't have mana for both.

I keep trying courser of kruphix but I really don't like it. I never get it early and when I do get it im chaining turns and I don't want to see it

I'm going to keep testing it before I post the results/decklist, the BUG version I'm also testing, so far, is superior IMO.

Frank Karsten has an article from SCG(i think) with a bit of a breakdown on how to do "population" math to find the right amount of lands, the same math could be used for cyclers.

I believe it was posted by memorylapse in the 8rack thread.

I can take the rude comments but it's frustrating NEVER to get a complete game in let alone a match.

I'll admit I'm not the fastest on mtgo because I'm terrible with computers, on paper I fly like the wind, twenty years of legacy on paper taught me to be fast.

Just the salt yesterday was something I've never seen before. Not ONE person was willing to stick it out and everyone called the deck a name or me a loser for running a BS (not real) deck. I was actually quite tilted over it.
It's not even performing well, I was just trying to test the UG version. They saw a warp spell and that was it, salt city.

I played magic for twenty years since beta but I didn't play modern until two years ago. I have so many cards that when I discovered net decks similar to mine I started building them as net decks, next thing I know I have over twenty of them. Just built skred red and tooth and nail last few days to add to the collection.

I think I might be addicted to netdecking now. Sometimes I feel like I'm out of control.lol

Tron is probably the closest to the deck I like the most to play. Taking turns is probably the next fave but I get so much grief for playing it from opponents that I rarely do anymore to keep the salt down.

Dredge I loved with grave troll, they banned it and I moved onto living end but endless cycling gets old fast. Twin was my fave until it was banned. Running grixis shadow(was delver) as the closest to twin. Not a favorite though.

I haven't really found a playstyle in modern for me yet I guess. In legacy I wanted to either win fast or lock you out permanently. Modern is a diffrent game, I feel like it forces me to think more since the power level is less and I have to have better strategies since I can't rely on getting the "game winning" card like in legacy.

Thanks for all the replies. Been scratching my head for awhile over this.

Im not a serious player but I think I want to be, I opened an LGS a few years ago and ever since I've been leaning towards getting my skills up. I think I want to go beyond casual now.

@just me, thanks for the breakdown, I have a genesis wave put aside. I was going to test it and pull a primal command for it but I like the combo idea. I have ballista and the wave and if I looked I probably have the others.
