Two more cheap, reactive variants in black would be undying evil and supernatural stamina.
Also Athreos, god of passage returns only to hand and lets an opponent (of your choice though) prevent it, but he is permanent and hard to remove.
I really like the style of this set. Some really beatyfull art and also quite diverse for current standards.
Also nice to get some more lightheartedly flavored cards like affectionate indrik and I kinda like the punny (if sometimes a bit silly) flavor texts.
Looking at power level and mechanics, set seems at least solid, so all in all, I'm pretty happy with it.
After a closer look at the artwork - is he standing in the middle of his collection of faces? I get a strong song of ice and fire vibe here and I like it.
So, with swarm guildmage spoiled, I assume we'll get
WR Legion Guildmage
WG Conclave Guildmage
UR League Guildmage
UB House Guildmage (this one sounds a bit off though)
Also Combinate, Syndicate, Cult, Clan and Senate Guildmage in RNA, but that's for the next crunch.
my version is built completely around theft cards (e.g. Zealous Conscripts). Your opponents play more cards from the benefits Kings provide, you just steal them all away, sac them to Claws of Gix or keep them with Sundial of the Infinite.
Sundial doesn't synergize with conscripts or other threaten effects that give you control until end of turn, since such effects just end when the sundial is activated and the stolen cards go back to their former controller.
Might be Huatli, but most certanly not dinosaur knight.
I don't think they will ever reprint planeswalker deck walkers, much less in any kind of masterpiece series.
I really hope we get some basilica courtyard and "red-light" district Swamps this time. Every Ravnica Swamp released so far feels like it fits Golgari and Dimir but not one to fit Orzhov and Rakdos.
Svetlin Velinov's work (linked by colt above) includes a very Izzet looking mountain and an undercity fungus forest, so chances might not be too bad.
So, after zoomed in and total perspectives of guildgates, we now get a view from the inside?
Seems flavorful for a setting of an outside menace that has agents in ravnica already, where every guild worries first and foremost about their own future and is suspicious about everyone else.
Wow... that is an extremely weird choice for distribution. They lowered the randomness of masterpieces by selling them as complete series, but still tie it to a booster product. So it's not an incentive to buy regular boxes anymore, while straight up collectors get random 'bonus' they probably aren't too thrilled to pay for. Seems like a way to make noone really happy.
Plus it's limited supply (do we know how limited it will be?) and American exclusive to buy directly.
Also the choice of planeswalkers seems odd - would have expected LotV rather than last hope in a 'masterpieces' set. Also no Jace, but I guess they save him for the next set (or the third of the block). But probably won't be the obvious JtmS either, maybe living Guildpact? would at least make sense flavorwise.
Only positive thing about these is they look grat - no butchering the card layout, frame and readability for the sake of uniqueness like invocations. On the other hand, if these were ugly, the screwed up availability would bother me less...

Because, unlike ETBs, he copies static abilities?
