Sorry, but I fail to see the appeal.

Because their involvement usually lead to hilarious train wrecks.

Why isn't Nahiri a vampire? Sorin bit her neck right before she imprisoned him.

Because Innistrad Vampires are different, Sorin isn't a "real" vampire in the sense of Dracula lord of vampires. His Uncle made him drink a mix of Angel and Demon blood that granted him immortality and a thirst for blood. He never really "died" which is why he still has his spark.

Sorin made it and he's no idiot. Surely he could have gotten people out of it if he wanted to.

We don't know that, if he could get people out of it why didn't he take Avacyn Out?

    Nahiri feels that's important.

And Nahiri didn't handle how she felt very well, Sorin was working on something and missed the Phonecall about the Eldrazi and she came in very angry and demanding why he didn't pick up the phone while he was a little bit busy, so she showed up angry and potentially violent.

    He's just an ass.

Just like every other Old Walker, Nahiri Included, because instead of keeping an eye on the Eldrazi's seal she went to sleep which allowed people to Deify the Eldrazi and toy with the Hedrons. Do you know what maybe would have prevented the Eldrazi from leaking through the seals the first time? The person who was supposed to be watching them actually watching them and going to get Ugin(maybe) and Sorin when it first started happening, so it could be fixed before it became a problem. Nahiri and Sorin's lovers spat is entirely "everybody is freaking wrong because Oldwalkers were freaking children a vast majority of the time."

Yeah, this set feels a little bit like a "Return to Amonkhet". Samut should have brought Djeru to help fight, but I guess ordinary people can't planeswalk. Makes me wonder how that chinese planeswalker guy is able to bring his dog wherever he goes..

Ravnica needs a miracle to survive this one..

It isn't like Ravnica doesn't have a bunch of Kaiju about to have gigantic monster fights with the gods.

Did the Helvault have a switch that allowed one to release things?

If the card is any indication, the off switch is "Smash it with a hammer"

Also, why is Angrath on Bolas's side? That makes, like, zero sense.

He isn't he is angry and setting fire to everything. Nobody is really on "Bolas" side because all the walkers on the plane are targets to get their sparks stolen.

Nahiri on Ravnica makes no sense unless she wants to fight Sarkhan, Jace, and Chandra for releasing the Eldrazi titans in the first place. Sorin finally getting free of his prison and going after Nahiri makes sense but why emphasize the uncertainty to which he would be free of his prison when Nahiri seals him? Only to have him free a couple of sets further down? I don't get it... Oh, and Tibalt coming to Ravnica maybe to continue his beef with Sorin. But why didn't he go kill Sorin when he was stuck in the stone?

It is becoming clear that the Beacon is forcing planeswalkers to come, the majority of the Planeswalkers here have absolutely no reason to actually go to Ravnica naturally, and don't have personality types that would bring them to a place because something shiny is going on. Angrath has exactly zero reason to go walking anywhere given that War can't be taking place to long after Ixalan, same with Sorin who was trapped.

Oddly enough, I think Tibalt is the best of the ones that don't have + effects, he fills the same sort of role as Sulfuric Vortex, but doesn't have the downside of you taking damage as well.

Agreed, but it feels weird that Tibalt isn't the worst thing ever and I'm not sure how to process this.

Here is a really dark secret, I once won my LGS's modern FNM..with Tibalt.

Main thing for me is that walkers with static/triggered abilities seem a bit squishier than enchantments.

Agreed. Comparable, but more versatile than, the Sagas from Dominaria. I definitely don't think even close to all of them will see regular play, but there are some cool designs.

Walkers traditionally are squishy anyway so nothing has really changed there other than less ways to raise their loyatly in a vacuum. I guess it's just nice to see some instant gratification from casting the walker without having to hit loyalty abilities.

    Lots of good stuff here

Love that Gideon gets the Blackblade name.

Domri looks super good in an aggro deck. Turn 4 Domri, use +1, play Zhur-Taa Goblin/Nest Robber/etc

Teferi looks real fun in edh

Nissa's mana doubling is also going to be super sweet in edh

I definitely want to go for the flavor win of equipping him with Blackblade Reforged then plussing him to give himself lifelink.

    Can't says other.

I'm sure somebody has mentioned it somewhere, but do you think the planeswalkers that don't have any plus loyalty abilities represent the ones that will die?

They literally have no way of saving themselves.

I doubt it, I think they are just the uncommon ones so that the limited format doesn't completely devolve into standstills. They have no + abilities and - abilities that won't kill them, so they can activate abilities..then stick around for their passive effect.

tap and sac 10 permanents? yawn. i guess it would do some stuff in a soul sisters token build or something in edh, but really at that point you're better off with blood artist and a sac outlet or that card that makes opponents lose life equal to the number of creatures you control. i guess the playing things for free bit is neat but at 6 mana there's probably better ways to do that

Not just things for free, things for free..from the top of your library. Being able to cast things from the top of the Library has proven pretty potent.
