    And Eldraine brings another consideration?!

    Syr Faren, the Hengehammer (uncommon)
    GG
    Legendary Creature - Human Knight
    2/2
Whenever Syr Faren, the Hengehammer attacks, another target attacking creature gets +x/+x until end of turn, where X is Syr Faren's power.
A base 2/2 for 2 ain't great but wow on doubling up our power boosts from Savage Swipe and Aspect and Rancor and Vines.
Think this is more along the lines of flavors that don't do the counters-synergy thing - no EOne/Pelty.

Syr Faren seems risk but the payoff is big! We can easily kill T3 if the opponent has no removal.
    T1: Any drop 1
    T2: Syr Faren
    T3: Any two spells that give him 6+ power, attack T3 for 8 + 10 + 2(T2) = 20.

    These 2 spells can be:
    1. Rancor + 4 Vines of Vastwood +6
    2. Rancor + Aspect of Hidra +6
    3. Vines of Vastwood + Aspect of Hidra +7
    4. Vines of Vastwood + Savage Swipe +6 + creature removal
    5. Anything + 2 Savage Swipe +6 + creature removal

Jeskai is an option but maybe to ambitious. I really think that an Aggro Boros can be the most reasonable/safe shelter for her.
She is already good by herself and synergizes with the great adition of Tenth District Legionnaire, the best heroic card after Favored Hoplite.
The new Gideon is also a reason to play an Boros Aggro. He and Tenth can be targeted by Reckless Rage all day, killing all the enemies creatures. He can also after 2 turns, exile any nonland permanent. It´s weird because is a deck that can be really fast, but can adapt itself to play safely with the help of Gideon and Sheltering Light.

The pump spells can also be played defensively agaisnt red decks, where integrity/intervation can play a big role.

One more toughness and it would be so perfect! Frown
Besides, I don't like to play so many three drop creatures so what I really miss is another good two drop like avatar of resolute. I believe 4 Experiment One, 3 Pelt Collector, 3 Dryad could be a good start if you don't use fetches for narnam.

Hey guys, take it easy! It's friday and it's just MTG!

The Elf Champion is a great addition to our deck, although I was not a big fun on 3CMC creatures. Even baloth, I was running just 2, trying to be as fast as possible. But the arrival of Elf Champion opened my mind for the possibility to run 8 creatures with 3 CMC and 4 mana dork.

I don't like dryad militant and though Narnam is great, I'm not going to use fetch lands on a budget deck. So 4 mana dork can provide us a nice opening to cast any of our 3 CMC creatures on turn 2.

I agree that the mana dork is a bad topdeck, but any 1 CMC creature is. However, with 8 creatures with 3 CMC the probability is in favor of us.

Another advantage running mana dorks is that we can drop or hand fast, casting Aspect of Hydra with a greater devotion. For example, we may cast a turn 4 Aspect for +11/+11 instead of a +8/+8 in the same scenario.

So my plan is to run:

    1 CMC(8)
    4 Llanowar Elves
    4 Experiment One

    2 CMC(10)
    4 Avatar of the Resolute
    4 Strangleroot Geist
    2 Scavenging Ooze

    3 CMC(8)
    4 Leatherback Baloth
    4 Steel Leaf Champion

    Spells
    4 Aspect of Hydra
    4 Vines of Vastwood
    4 Rancor
    2 Blossoming Defense

Dismember in the side, being aggressive and more midrange at the same time.

Unfortunatelly they dont trigger undying if a creture has already +1/+1 counter on it because it dies at the same time as a stated based action.
It would be perfect if it would put only one -1/-1 counter. Like a 1CMC, 3/2 that puts a -1/-1 counter on a creature.

Nice deck Batman! I just think that rishkar is perfect for this deck... as we have so much 2 drops, i would remove liberator and play 3 rishkar and 3 nissa.
Rishkar is a body and gives 2 counters, helping avatar, trigger evolve and can be useful in late game more than nissa. The mana ramp can be useful for defense or extreme cases.
I would play inspiring call as well, perfect for protection protection and buy cards

    Nice discussion!

After Winding Constritor spoiler I rebuild my stompy count deck, see below:
    http://www.ligamagic.com.br/?view=decks/view&deck=492751

Today some new cards were revelead(Narnam Renegade, Maulfist Revolutionary, Scrounging Bandar) but no one seems to fit perfect in the deck.
Revolt is nice but I don't want to buy fetchs. I feel sad because Maulfist Revolutionary would be really nice if 3/4.

I think that Rishkar, Peema Renegade is a great card, even more than nissa for 3CMC. It gives 2 times +1/+1 counters and a body 2/2, making us play wide and safe from red global removals.

To keep the deck stompy I just replaced the cards that several stompy players dont use. Replacements:
Rakdos Cackler - the best 1 CMC, trigger evolve, 2 attack and has counter.
Rishkar Peema Renegade - Replace boggart or baloth. Nice sinergy with constritor, can put easy 6 power and counters for everyone.
Winding Constrictor - Replace the 2 drops Kalonian Tusker
Inspiring Call - Give us resilience and draws! Nice!
Nissa Voice of Zendikar - Give us resilience against removal decks and has nice sinergy with counters. I would replace her for Rancor to be more stompy.

    Other removed cards:
Aspect hydra was removed - we are not so fast now but much more resilient.
Rancor - I love rancor, maybe find some place for it.. but it doesn't help us with counters and can be a risk against removals.

What do you thing about a black splash but keeping the core of the deck, stomper!

3-0'd an 8-man today. Beats Burn, White Nyxthos Prison, and Jund.

Predator's Strike has been sweet. There are instances where I've thought, Aspect would be lethal this turn, but I was winning the next turn regardless. I beat Merfolk earlier in the 2-mans. Oxidize & Hunt The Hunter are still testing well. Having a 3/3 Hexproof is good. Witchstalker and Dungrove are so close, both being 3/3-5/5 but neither with any real consistency. In paper I play 2-3 Pendelhaven and would like to make the switch online, too. This also negs Dungrove. Thrun is a possibility. Setessan Tactics has been awesome! Saved my team from an Anger Of The Gods, killed a Deceiver Exarch mid-combo, swept Merfolk and Affinity, and is a decent replacement against decks where a card like Dismember is dead since it still pumps for more damage output. Jund was playing Kitchen Finks which made me miss Boggart Ram-Gang, and I lost game 2 when he had 2 Finks and a Scooze, but games 1 & 3 were not even close (I drew insanely well in G3.) Trample is SO important!

Interesting! Sometimes I feel that 3 mana drops don't help us to win the game, instead, fast creatures and instants make us unexpected. I'm planning to play with just 2 Boggart, no Baloth.
However, I believe that 4 ooze is too much. I would use just 2 and I suggest Garruk's Companion.

anyone see new Nisa, (1)GG 3 loyality. =1 is put a 0/1 token, -2 is put a 1/1 token on all creatures you control. -7 gain x life, draw x cards. where is X is your lands you control

I just saw it, I like it!Idon't have a whole lot of experience, but I could see her replacing Scooze, or being SB in matches where Baloth isn't big enough and it helps more to pump the field and go wide. definitely testing if she doesn't end up too pricey

I really like new Nisa! But, to be honest, I'm not sure if a stomp green is suitable for that. I'm working on GU simic as a second deck, I believe it fits better in a mid and late strong deck.

    Guys,

Found a nice card to play against removal and mainly burn!
    Sheltering Word

Hexproof and life. Better than 2 mana and just 5 life.

In case of bad hands situations:
    1) No 1 CMC creatures: use will have ~14 permanents with CMC=1 instead of 8, avoiding mana waste
    2) Few lands: as we have more drop 1 permanents, we can do more with just 2 lands
    3) No Hardened Scales(simulation below - absence of dryad and baloth has low impact)

    HAND+4=11
    3 mana, 1 E1, 1 Servant of the Scale, 1 wolf, 1 Avatar, 1 Geist, 1 Rancor, 1 Vines, 1 Hydra
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Turn 1(0 dmg) - E1
    Turn 2(4 dmg) - Geist
    Turn 3(6 dmg) - Servant + wolf + Rancor
    Turn 4(9+4 dmg) - Avatar(5/4) + Vines
    Turn 5(14+8 dmg) - Hydra
    Total: 45 dmg - E1(3/3), Servant(1/1), Avatar(5/4), Geist(2/1), Wolf(1/1)

I did some simulations with good hands and the result was very strong.
More damage already in third turn and creatures much more stronger.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    GREEN STOMPY
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Turn 1(0 dmg) - E1
    Turn 2(4 dmg) - Dryad + Rancor
    Turn 3(7 dmg) - Baloth : E1(3+2/3), Dryad(2/1), Baloth(4/5)
    Turn 4(12+8 dmg) - Avatar + Hydra
    Turn 5(15+4 dmg) - Vines
    Total: 50 damage, E1(4/4), Dryad(2/1), Avatar(4/3), Baloth(4/5)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    GREEN STOMPY COUNTER
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    HAND+4=11
    4 mana, 1 E1, 1 Servant of the Scale, 1 Hardened Scales, 1 Avatar, 1 Fangren Firstborn, 1 Rancor, 1 Vines, 1 Hydra
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Turn 1(0 dmg) - E1
    Turn 2(3 dmg) - Hardened Scales, + Servant(2/2)
    Turn 3(9 dmg) - Rancor + Avatar: E1(5/5), Servant(2/2), Avatar(6/5)
Turn 4(15 dmg) - Fangren Firstborn
    Turn 5(19+8+13 dmg) - Vines + Hydra
    Total: 67 - E1(7/7), Servant(4/4), Avatar(8/7), Fangren(6/4)

    The deck idea so far:

I have been playing with the default green stompy approch. Now, reading this article I became interested in the version '+1/+1 counter' of it.
The idea is to keep the deck identity, primarily fast, but replacing cards for sinergies and a stronger mid and late game.

This new deck approach is based on the Hardened Scales card. Actually, the deck is very similar, but with 4 scales we can have creatures bigger easier at beginning, mid and late game.

    Synergies:
Experiment One. To be honest, it's very rare to get it greater than 2/2. The most of times it die without regenerate. With scale it can grow to 3/3 always, being harder to kill.
Young wolf. 1/1, undying 3/3. Very nasty. Even without scales, sometimes I prefer it than Dryad Militant.
Strangleroot Geist. The best 2 CMC now comes back 4/3! OFMG!
Avatar of the Resolute. 2 CMC, 5/4 trample. We don't need bigger creatures anymore. Servant of the Scale help to activate the ability.
    Scavenging Ooze Grows double!

So, what loses space by lack of synergy?
    Leatherback Baloth
    Dryad Militant
    Dungrove Elder

    Replacements suggestion:
    1)Predator Ooze
Baloth is a good card but very questionable. Predator Ooze is like a mix approach between it and Dungrove Elder, because it's not so easily removed and can grow faster than both. At turn 4, read to attack, it will be 3/3(just 1 less attack then Baloth), 5/5(already bigger) at turn 5...

    Other creatures:
Fangren Firstborn is a little bit slow, but will finish the game at turn 5 by attacking 6/4 and adding +2/+2 to all other creatures. FINISH HIM.
Managorger Hydra can be 5/5 trample at turn 4 easier, better than baloth too.
Primordial Hydra can grow even faster, but 5/5 at turn 4 for sure.

    2)Servant of the Scale
This creature is very useful. It already enters with +1/+1 counter, helping Avatar of the Resolute. Besides, it's may enter 2/2 if scales is already in the game and when dying add +4/+4 to another creature. Just 1 mana. I would replace it for Dryad Militant. Any other 1 mana creature like this?

    3)Mutant's Prey
This card replaces Prey Upon, it's instant so it can help us like dismember.

    4)Bow of Nylea
Some builds already use this card. Very useful to kill the enemies creatures and in this build can help to put +1/+1 counters too. Can help us with the card advantage in the mid, late game too.

    What else?
We keep the deck fast and now our small creatures became bigger without any mana cost or others cards.
The absence of Hardened Scales don't change anything.
As scales is 1 CMC, it helps to avoid mullingan. We will have at least 14 CMC=1.
We can be slower at 2 turn, but we will be stronger at turn 3,4 and 5. Ensuring more protection to our creatures.
Inspiring Call? Indestructible + draw cards

    Deck suggestion:
    http://www.ligamagic.com.br/?view=decks/view&id=258312

What do you think about these changes? Someone have some any duel comparisons?
    Thanks folks!
